Were trying to fly into fort walton beach but we have a 4pm check in time so we would be getting there really early with the flights, and 8 am check out time with a 6 am flight or 4 pm flight going back. Any suggestions???

Call your hotel and ask if they will store luggage for early arrivals until a room is ready. If they do, also note that you have the early checkout time but aren't leaving the area until later in the day and if you can do the same.

This does really depend on the hotel or resort property. You are probably on your own at a basic place, but if a place with a bell desk (guys that actually will take a bag to your room), they can usually store it.

Arriving early, you can always attempt to check in upon arrival and at the very least, they should assign you one of the first available rooms.

You can also inquire about late check-out. Let them know that your flight doesn't leave until later and ask if there is any way (including paying a possible fee) you can have late check out.

Obviously, they need to turn the rooms during a time when everyone in the hotel is checking in/out on the same day. But... never hurts to ask. Even if you have to pay a small fee, it is usually worth the extra trouble free hours (and possibly the sleeping in before you leave).
