i saw Simple Plan in 03 in Cancun. Saw Goo Goo Dolls year before that. the dolls performed about their whole CD they were putting out that year, and was free...so couldnt ***** about that :)

i saw oakenfold at the city in 05 and 06, that was nutz....yea i remember we went back in 06 and la boom and tequilla boom was destroyed, fat tuesdays bungy jumping wasnt there......i loved fat tuesday's, especially that mexican guy who did all the contests and kept tryin to get wit all da girllssss, hahaha

Yea 06 was its last year i was there that year its finished now it needs something new beach club wise as i think its lacking things to do in the daytime now !

I'm guessing that you don't agree that PCB should have spent $250,000 to bring mtvU here this year.

Since I'm involved with the PCB Convention and Visitor Bureau, I am interested in hearing any ideas our college spring break visitors have about how the college spring break promotion money should be spent for 2010. Thank you.

Bring in the original MTV, not MTVU. Although I doubt it'd be anything like the 90's. Alright, its Friday and time to leave work.

stylz: We all packed backpacks full of beer for the concerts, and even if you didn't want to do that, everyone on the edges had coolers...you were actually sober for the concerts? And the day Flo Rida performed there were 3 artists, Flo Rida actually did about 5 songs... And what do you mean about lines??? Its on the beach! You walk up to it! How could there possibly be a line?!?!

Maybe I'm the odd one out but I always meet tons of girls at the concerts, am hammered the whole time, and just enjoy solid entertainment on a beautiful beach

This would be a good place for input from Spring Breakers if that's what you;re looking for.

I follow the posts, but try to keep out of the discussion. While I believe the students will come here regardless of whether money is spent on mtvU or not, that decision is up to the CVB board members. As a marketing committee member, my job is to try to make sure whatever money that is allocated by the board is being spent effectively.

There has been a lot of discussion about whether PCB is getting their money worth from mtvU being here, but there hasn't been any serious discussion about other ways the $250,000 could be spent providing activities during the entire month(rather than just the 2 week mtvU is willing to be here). It seems like this group could provide a lot of assistance in providing alternative ideas to be considered for 2010.

As far as getting the real MTV here rather than mtvU, I don't think we have enough money to make that happen. PCB was promised that MTV would be here in 2008, but MTV ended up changing their mind and going to Miami instead. I don't believe any explanation was ever provided as to why MTV wanted to be there instead.

I was @ last years spring break in PCB. Most the mtvu shows were a joke but I did see the 3 Doors Down show put on by the coast gaurd. I believe they put it on anyway. They played a complete, kick *** show. It took them a little while to get set up but to my knowledge it was the first date on there tour. Couldnt have asked for a better free show! Oh and I just signed up. Ill be back this year from March 13 - 20.

Yeah I really dont think they should have paid $250,000 for mtvu to come....This will be my 6th year down there and having mtvu there has not made my trip any better.....Regardless of they are there or not people are still going to come. I think that money could easily be spent other ways to make the whole month better. The best year I ever had there mtv didnt show up....If it was the original MTV I would say its worth it, but mtvu is pretty much a joke....If everyone received this channel back home I think it might be work it also, it would give pcb a lot of exposure....No one gets this channel tho, so no one sees what was going on during spring break there....

And I have no comment to the kid who said what he has gone there 4 years before and what else do we do.......So youve been there almost as many times as me, you should know that mtvu is nothing then.....I party on the beach during the day with my friends and everyone else, mtv is not helping my party experience, you might like waiting for the concerts for a few hours but to me its a waste of time, yeah i can hear them down the beach just fine if I wanna listen, i could also listen to other music and still have a good time

Oh and there are a few occasions where I did enjoy the concerts they put on......OAR I thought put on the best performance I have seen down there and lil john and the ying yang twins werent bad either....I might have left out someoen else.....was akon there a few years ago?? Oh and Fabulous was the worst I have ever seen

that sucks cuz were going first week of march!! I rmeember last year first week of march was PACKED... not so much this yea lol
