New camera?

I am looking to buy a new camera. I need something small that fits into the pocket, but something that is good at snapping photos in the sun or in the clubs.

Any suggestions? The camera I used last year was nice! But the photos in low light areas came out like ****.

I wanna keep it below or around $200. It can easily be broken or lost so.

Canon IS 1100 is a pretty nice, cheaper point-n-shoot. Friend has one and it takes nice low light pictures and beach pics. Been thinking about getting one myself for something to carry around easily so I don't have to take the Rebel everywhere.

Thanks guys I'll look into some of these cams. I was thinking about buying some cam from Nikon (The guy who does "punked' is like the spokesman for this brand) It has 10 megapixel, 5 x zoom, scene settings etc. It was just under 200.

But I'll check out what was posted and read some reviews on them.

Yeah I too had one of those Kodak cams. By the end of summer you could not take videos anymore. Sometimes the pic would have like a black fade or something on it. Buttons would stick It made it through all that! Then got stolen on my way home.

I've had the best pictures with a Kodak Easyshare camera. Problem was...they were bigger cameras, so pretty bulky in my pocket. Right now I have a Casio Exlim 7x optical zoom....but it's an internal retractable lense! So that means it's slimmer than most cams with optical zoom. So far...I like it.

If you're looking for a new camera, then search for

Sony DSC-T77 or DSC-T500.

There are both good Cameras!

I went out and got this camera yesterday. Picked it up for $150 at Best Buy. Haven't played around with it too much yet but it seems like a great little camera for the price.

I was going to go with a Nixon coolpics. It was the same price but had 10 Megapixel's instead of 8 like this Canon. But I guess the canon has a red beam (forget what you call it) Which is suppose to help in low light areas. Which is something I need.

I also found a pair of sunglasses that have a built in video recorder. (Up to 5 hours) Guess you can't get them here in the states yet. But some guy I know has them. Just trying to decided if I should blow $200 on a pair! Would be cool to have for spring break and parties thou.

I bought the DSC-T77 last week. Only 2 things I don't like about it...

It's touch screen...and the battery life SUCKS.

But it takes GREAT pictures. Haven't tested out the quality of "zoomed" pics yet.

I have the first one on that list, and its not a bad camera for under $150 at Bestbuy.

The great thing about that camera is that it takes two AA bateries and don't have to worry about running the battery dry and charging it. Just swap the batteries out and away you go... Thats the main reason I pick that one up. Cheap, for the drunken nights but yet durrable and the ease of batteries vs. having to charge the camera or buying another battery to fit a camera... Just my opinion...

I think they only sell the 10mp version of that camera now, for the same price...
