What is it like coming to Panama City for the first time? Does the anticipation rise when you see the signs say 70 miles to PCB? How was the road trip once you got close to Florida? When you get here and see all the college people everywhere, are you excited? I guess all I'm asking is what I originally wanted to know, whats it like when you come here for the first time? What were some of your experiences the first moment/day you arrived in Panama City? Do you really think our beaches are some of the whitest, prettiest beaches in America/the world? I haven't been to many others around America or elsewhere, so I don't have many other beaches to compare it too.

My first time was when I was a baby, so I don't remember much. And being around here all your life kinda kills the excitement I guess, so I'm wondering what everyone else's experiences were like or what you're expecting if you've never been here.

Let's see....my first time I went, I had already graduated from college. My gf at the time asked me if I wanted to go down to Panama City for spring break. I had never been to Florida...nor did I have any desire to go to Florida. I had been in the midwest all my life, and that's the way I liked it.

After a couple of days of going back and forth on the subject, I decided...why not? So we packed up the car...me, here, and her 2 year old. I mean...it was a free trip...she offered to pay for everything...so I said why not.

I got down there, and the first stop we made was at a gas station, where when I walked in, I was in amazement that there was a girl in a BIKINI in the store...checking out at the register. Maybe not a big deal to you...but to my virgin eyes, I was like WOW.

And when we got to the hotel to check in, there were 3 girls standing in front of us checking out with the smallest shorts I'd ever seen in my life! I had to pretend like I didn't notice.

Needless to say, I spent the whole weekend cuddled up with my make shift "family"...doing things like floating in the wade pool...and having "family dinners". From that point forward, I knew it was meant for me to be single for a while.

I went back to PCB as a single man a few times after that. :)

I can comment on the beaches part. I have been to Santa Cruz and while the cliff's, rocks, caves just the whole landscape around the water is really nice looking. The water and the sand are average I guess you could say. The sand was really rough. I've also been to the jersey shoreline and their beaches are well.. Nasty. At least the area I was in. Ocean City, Maryland is pretty nice.


There is a reason Florida is known for their beaches. And why PCB is ranked one of the best along the fla shores. (Speaking of which. Travel channel has top 10 fla beaches on today at 4pm CST)

my 1st time and everytime i go down there, once i get to that bridge and im crossing it, all my worries and problems go away.....i kno that after a 18 hour drive, its all worth it wen i get to the other side

my first time was soooo LIVE!!!! and CRUNK!!!!...we didnt know nothing about PCB spring break and we go to skool rite in Tallahassee only 1.5hrs away..but my soph year we was kinda broke and said **** it we aint got no money so lets go to PANAMA city!!!...that was the best decision of my life now this gonna be my 3rd time dahn thurr!!!..n now we got so many other dudes wanna go out thurr...
...n for us it all started with 3 BRAVE SOULS to pave the way for the rest of the FAMU RATTLERS TO MAKE THEIR WAY dahn to PCB!!!!...I LIKE TO THINK IM A LEADER IN THE FAMU RATTLERS PCB MOVEMENT!!!...LOL..

GOD I CANT WAIT FOR PCB SB NUMBER 2!

Im on break at work so here this goes..

It was the most unbelievable and unforgettable experience! This is briefly how my first spring break to PCB went. I got a call from my cousin who asked if I wanted to go with him and his 2 friends. It was a last minute decision that they were going and we all had a week to plan for it which we didn’t do at all. The week went by and it was time to go! We got there around 2am that morning, had a few shots then went to sleep. Next morning got up, ate, and were out to party. We were staying way down off of front beach road right beside Sharkys Beach club at the Great Value Inn during April 15-19th. $110 a night, and if you stay 2 nights you get the 3rd night free! That’s where its at!!!!

There weren’t many people out on the beach at our hotel but we managed to meet up with a few cool people from Michigan. I guess it was there spring break time. Anyways we partied with them for a bit, then we ended up making a run to Walmart. On our way there was these 2 girls in front of us on a scooter and we were all stopped at a red light. Next thing you know, some guy is honking at them and they got off their scooter and flashed them and us and beads flew right into their hands. Being that we had never seen that live before and from a bible belt state we were in shock! It was broad daylight!!! They just flashed us!! Good lord!!!! After getting to Walmart we were once again blown away by all the hot girls we saw and half of them were still wearing their bikini which shocked us as well. Well it was Friday and started getting dark outside. We had heard by word of mouth of this place called Club LaVela and wanted to check it out. Driving down the strip was jaw dropping for us. We were amazed at all the crazy lights and stores we saw, Condom knowledge, Purple Haze, Heatwave, th famous sling shot in front of the super clubs, just to name a few. We found ourselves stuck in this traffic that was actually fun, so fun we didn’t even care to go to the club. Traffic would just come to a stop and people would get out of their cars and start dancing, everyone had their genra of music blaring, girls where in the backs of trucks and on top of cars dancing and flashing.

Again we were blown away and being taken in with all the things that were going on. We never made it to Lavela that night because we just had to much fun on the strip, besides, it took us an hour and a half to go less than 6 miles. While on the strip sitting in the car and looking out the window at all the fun filled crazyness that surrounded us I made a vow that I would come here every year after that I could. The next day we just partied and on the beach and ended up going to Club LaVela for our first ever wet T shirt contest that we saw in a flier. We where again shocked that girls were getting up in front of everyone and putting on these little shirts and getting them soaked. Some changed in front of everyone and didn’t even care, and they weren’t even drunk! It was insane! Later we were getting ready for the night and because we new nothing about Panama City Beach, the clubs, places to eat etc, we would rely on these fliers that were posted everywhere around our hotel. We found out about this party bash at Hammerhead Freds that night. We ended up going to it and it was an experience me and my friends will never forget. We paid $20 had all the free beer and hurricanes we could drink which turned into maybe 3 drinks a piece cause of the long lines but whatever. We danced with so many hot girls, then they opened up the stage to let girls get up and dance on it. All the sudden the staff came out with boxes of beads and condoms and threw them out to everyone. Needless to say, a lot of flashing took place and the girls dancing on stage were letting all the guys feel them up and flashing them, it was extreme to say the least.

Much later after grabbing a bite at the packed Wafflehouse we headed back to our hotel where I met this hot super tan girl from Chicago. We partied the rest of the night and then the morning came and it was time to leave L . Wow that sucked! I maybe got an hour of sleep at the most. But having to leave people that you had just met a coulpe of days ago and sharing the craziest experiences with was worse. Not to mention your about to get back to reality and have to strap a watch to your wrist to keep up with time.

Here it is 09 and the best thing is most of those feelings come back. The only feeling I don’t get is that curiosity of not knowing what lurks behind each street corner and the need to explore because I know the place now.

Ok that wasn’t brief at all! But to answer the other questions. Because I live so close to the coast and have made several day trips during the summer its not a huge deal when traveling there but I still get excited when I come over the Hathaway Bridge like Stylz mentioned.

About the beaches. Honestly imo, hands down Destin has the whitest cortz sand with the most beautiful turquoise waters but I love Panama City Beach as well. Something that tops Destin though is going to Freeport Grand Bahamas. Their sand was a very light gray but the water is so amazing and was crystal clear both times I went.

PCB was a great time. As I have been to many different destinations for spring break, pcb is all its own! Great people, good times, and LOTS of partying to say the least!!

I've only done Spring Break in PCB so I can't compare to other locations, but EVERY time i've been to PCB its been one of the greatest weeks of my life!!! I get chills seeing the bridge every time, and watching the temperature rise

As for the beaches, they really are the best I've ever been on. I live in L.A. and our beaches just don't compare (sand quality, water temp & cleanliness, etc)

It will be my first time in PCB this year...last year went to cancun and had a great time, but will this year top it?

I'm liking what i heard so far...plus its 15 degrees here, spring break cannot come soon enough

We have a condo in Myrtle. It doesn't even come close to PCB...

Never seen mytle beach listed as one of the big spring break places!
