Looking at VRBO and trying to figure out which one of these two places I should stay at. Have heard good things about both. Boardwalk seems like it may be a little crazier, but Summit condos have been averaging $300+ less a week.

Any advice?

Boardwalk is more crazy because they dont restrict who comes and goes! YOu can bring anyone back to party with you at the boardwalk, however, at the summit, their security is crazy!! Unless you have a bracelet that states you are staying there, you are not allowed in! HUGE walls so the only way in is through the front! In my opinion, boardwalk all the way!! Plus MTV is filming there, its a no brainer!

The Summit



Pros:

• You can drink/party in the parking lots while waiting to check in because the area is sealed off.
• The elevators can be fun cause of the people on them.
• Major party atmosphere all around you
• Hotel parties are everywhere
• Club La Vela, Spinnakers, and Hammerhead Freds are all right beside you.
• Your at ground zero for all the parting and action going on during the day behind the hotel on the beach.

Cons:

• Super strict about wristbands.
• You cant bring any outside guest back to the hotel.
• The stairways are very musty smelling cause idiot drunks pee on them.
• Security might be strict about taking funnels, kegs and such to the beach though I haven’t had any trouble before.

Boardwalk Condos


Pros:

• For the most part they don’t check for wristbands and you can bring back outside guests.
• Very plush hotel and environment
• Ground zero for all the daytime action on the beach including MTVU.
• Elevators are very clean
• Very short walk to La Vela, Spinnaker, and Hammerhead Freds.
• Again the place is very posh if that matters to you.

Cons:

• Not a huge party atmosphere like the Summit.

I haven’t officially stayed for a week at the Boardwalk like I have the Summit but visited there several times and this was the feel that I got of the place. See what others think.

boardwalk is better, i stayed at boardwalk one week and summit one week last year, summit is ghey with rules and kickin people out and crap, you will have more fun at boardwalk

so many people get kicked out of summit every week. boardwalk has some awesome parties but people aren't as reckless as the summit

ive never been to the summit because the security is so damn strict! but i stayed at boardwalk last year and it was fun :)

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I just got really lucky and was able to get a hell of a deal for the Boardwalk! So that's where I'll be staying this year.

Blah blah blah summit vs. boardwalk. I've stayed in a house every year with 2-3 bedrooms, paid between 500 and 1000 bucks for EVERYTHING divided amongst the house guests, and have always been able to walk to the party spots. It's impossible to get kicked out, you can park 5 feet away from your front door, and you can always party in anyone else's hotel room. You don't have to wait to check in, and you can bring puppies!

Last year I was lookin at the parking lot of club LaVela from my front porch.

the security wasn't too bogus. we had no problem smuggling girls in from the bars. its just a matter of keeping them ducked down in the car (that is if you have one) or having the taxi driver drive you in past the main security gate.

as for boardwalk, haven't stayed there, only partied there. it's fun as hell, but i'd really go with the summit. either way, you're gonna have a kick *** time.
