Directions always take me down 331 or 231. I don't think either way will make much of a difference in time. Especially...depending on what time you get to PCB. You might get stuck in traffic trying to get across the bridge to the beach.

Only downfall about 331 is, a lot of it is country roads, and it is only 2-laned if I'm not mistaken. I know 77 and 79 are two-laned most of the way down to PCB...

231 is four-laned all the way down.

actually, I went down 231 last year, and it wasn't bad, but it seemed so slow once you hit state line...

the speed limit was only 55 in some areas and there were a lot of small towns to stop in

I might try 331.... or stay on the interstate longer.. idk

Yea, you're talking about the 4 small towns in between Dothan and PCB...The first town Cambleton, there may be one cop, the second town, Cottondale, slow your *** down!!!! Third town is Fountain, you'll want to slow down when you first get into Fountain, after that, you're good. Then there is Youngstown, and there is very rarely a cop there, but it is SB so watch out...There is another small area called Round Lake, but I've only seen one there in the past year or so and they were at this small BBQ place on the side of the road...

The only area other than those you really have to worry about is right before you get into Panama City there is almost ALWAYS a speed trap. It only takes me an hour to get from Dothan to Panama City while going through the small towns. Just get in a small pack of cars and go!

Go 231 to Troy. Take 167 towards Enterprise (I think it is right next to Countrys BBQ). Stay on 167. It will change to 79 once you cross to FL.

It puts you on Front Beach road...next to Pier Park.

Yea, only downfall to 79 once you get into FL is, its 2 lanes all the way until you get about 10 miles from the beach...**** THAT! lol Been behind WAY too many slow cars on that road and you can't ever pass! Cops are hitting 79 hard this year too. At least there were about 10 cops in between Dothan and PC this past weekend...

I've driven this way 10+ times and I've come down 231 10+ times. Coming down 79 is by far the fastest way to get from Montgomery to the beach. It's not even close, even when you get stuck behind slow traffic.

Seems we have some disagreements in HUR (sorry, the language being spoken around PC recently is getting to me lol)...

Guess you guys can pick your routes and let us know what worked for you this year.

Ah yea I heard they were hitting 331 hard this year. Sucks you got caught! I got pulled over for swerving the other day going down 79, I was trying to eat while driving, then the cop proceeded to tell me that it's illegal to drive in Florida while wearing open-toed shoes...(Flip flops)...wtf...
