From WJHG - Spring Breaker In Seruois Condition After Being Shot Early Sunday
A Tallahassee Spring Breaker is in serious condition at a Panama City hospital after being shot early Sunday morning along the roadside in the 8800 Block of Thomas Drive. Laquanzia Elizabeth Bush, 19 years old, was found in the grassy media between Thomas Drive and South Thomas Drive. She had a gunshot wound in the left torso area. Investigators learned the shooting was the result of an argument between several black females. One of the females pulled a pistol, firing one shot, which struck Bush. Witnesses say the suspect fled in a mid 1990’s gold or silver Nissan Maxima or Altima. The suspect is still being sought. |

New Lead in Weekend Panama City Beach Shooting Panama City Beach Police are still tracking down leads that will lead to the gunman, or, in this case, investigators believe, a gun woman. A first aid kit and bloody cloth mark the crime scene of Sunday's early morning shooting on Panama City Beach. By Monday, Panama City Beach Police had not made any arrests, but they say they do have some leads. "I can't go into everything we have, but we're running some video tapes of what people shot in the area and we're pursuing those leads and hopefully we'll be able to find the shooter," says Dave Humphreys Panama City Beach Police. Police have been piecing together the events leading up to the shooting. They believe there was one factions of black men and 2-factions of black women fighting in front of this pizza parlor on Thomas drive. One of the women pulled a gun and shot 19-year-old Laquanzia Bush. The suspect then got away in some kind of a gold mid 1990's Nissan Maxima or Altima. Cops believe a surveillance camera captured images of the car. "we have located a photograph a little sketchy, but a photograph of the vehicle." But police don't know if the photo will be enough to help them find their suspect. How many vehicles are there like that??" When e-m-s arrived on scene bush was laying in this grassy median between where south Thomas Drive splits-off from Thomas drive. Investigators don't believe bush or the members of her group were would you'd consider traditional spring breakers. "There was a car show here this weekend and there is some indication they were here for that we believe them to be from the Tallahassee area....um so not you're typical spring breakers." Bush in listed in guarded, but stable condition at a Panama City hospital. If you have any information regarding the early morning shooting or recognize the car you're asked to call the Panama City Beach Police Department at 233-5000. |
