Pontoon Boat RENTING

I came across Pontoon Boat Renting for SPRING BREAK IN PCB. My group are thinking of doing it. It be like 14 bucks a person.

March 15 is the date anyone interested in joining up...

HANK if you reading this, you down?

Has anyone else ever done it? Any tips or aware of any drinking policy or other rules?

The BUI law is Florida Statute 327.35.

About like driving: legal limit of .08, but they can charge you above .05 if you're exhibiting signs of impairment. Up to $500 fine + up to six months jail. Doesn't impact your driver's license, I'm sure they'd yank whatever temp license they give you to run the thing and ban you from operating a boat for awhile.

They impound the boat and there are fees involved with that, so whoever rents you the boat would probably want to have a word with you about that.

Also, water skiing is viewed the same as operating a boat - no skiing under the influence.

Edit to add: if the driver is at .15 or more and there are people under 18, it turns into minimum $1000 fine + mandatory jail time I believe. The moral of the story is to make sure to have a DD and don't let drinkers sit at the wheel.

I contacted a pontoon boat rental place down there and they said everyone can drink if they are 21 but the driver cant.. I'd just get some cups or something to hide the beer a little bit, just so you don't get harassed.

Same laws as a car, but open container is legal I guess?..

Could be fun for your group, but since it's not South Padre I doubt you'll have too much more company than that.

Yeah I don't think you will have any company out there if you do end up renting one. It would be fun of a bunch of people rented them but in 6 years down there I have seen maybe one or two boats out there before

hey man idk my group is thinking about it and we may not do it because of the suggestions above. we want to do and have as much fun as we can. if the pontoon boat isnt what hot in PCB then we may not do it.

What kind of deal was the guy talking about? It would have to be the 15th if anything because we are planning a party on the 17th now.

Man, the pontoons are actually pretty fun.. You dont go into the Gulf. You have to stay in the bay.. I dont knwo as far as spring break, but during the summer its awesome. They have HUGE parties out on shell island, at a local hidden treasure called three docks...

I dont know if alot of the spring break kids would have the cash to drop though..

It usually runs around 180-250 a day.... Which is alot, because you have to be back by 5pm... so if you do go, leave as EARLY as possible...

I'd also throw out that the water is going to be frigid, with the how cold it's been this winter.

I wakeboard and we always would go out the first time at the end of Feb - begining of March. That was usually in wetsuits and mild winters and that was early. I won't be getting into the water (short of drinking too much), until the end of March - April.
