While in PCB, a local told us to spend an afternoon in Seaside, FL. It is only a 30 minute drive from Sunspree Resort (Hwy 98 West, left onto Hwy 30-A after you cross the bridge.) Seaside is the town where "The Truman Show" was filmed. It is the coolest little village! The streets are cobblestone, the shops are open air shops, the smell from the restaraunts will make you drool, the beach is gorgeous, all the buildings are planned out to make a great community...
We ate at "Cafe Spiazzia." I had pizza and my wife had a portobella sandwich. The food was GREAT! This town looks like something out of a Hollywood set. Check out the site at www.seasidefl.com and you will get a feel for what it is like. We ate dinner next to Gary Cole (actor in "OfficeSpace" "Dodgeball" "Bradybunch"...) You can park your car and just walk around the village, browse the shops, get a really good dinner, maybe see some famous people, then drive back to PCB.

I agree about Seaside... and Shell Island, Treasureship, and Pineapple Willy's. You found some local treasures while you were here! Sounds like you had a wonderful trip!

We caught the Amy and Vince benefit a few weeks back in Seaside and had a great pre concert dinner at Bud and Alleys as well.

Other great stops in Seaside are Modicas Market, Shades, Fermentations and many of the numerous shops and stops on both sides of the street.

Just down the road is a MAGNIFICENT restaurant called Sandors! It is exclusive, small and delivers superb food and service with I believe only two seatings per night. Sandor will come out to meet you himself and this IS a special event type place. Birthday, Anniversary, Graduation, etc. Pricey and worth every penny.

Also nearby are Cafe 30A-yummy, Basmatis-yummy, Criollas-yummy.

I suggest a full day on 30A with stops from Rosemary Beach all the way to Gulf Place in Santa Rosa Beach. You can easily fill an entire day shopping, sunning, eating and just plain wandering.

Life IS a beach!!!
