Those of us in Panama City that have a taste for excellent Asian food with an exotic twist have been blessed with the goodness of Lotus...the brand new Vietnamese Restaurant off of HWY 98 just east of the Hathaway bridge. I ate there Saturday night for their Grand Opening and was delighted with every bite I took.
The Lotus Spring Rolls and Lemon Grass Chicken were truly the best Asian food I've had in a looooooong time. I also tasted the ginger chicken, which was equally delicious with a little bit less of the spice of the lemon grass. I was tempted to try one of the many soups, seafood stir fry dishes or the fish cakes, but I know I'll be back this week.. The restaurant is family owned and operated and everything is fresh and made to order. The friendly servers are very helpful in describing the flavors of the different dishes as well as explaining the Vietnamese tradition of dining. AND the very best part of Lotus is how inexpensive it is. I was shocked at how low our bill was after having an entire meal including appetizers, entrees, hot tea and coffee...less than $20!!! Does anyone know the status of the Chilli's that was being built near Panama City Mall? I haven't been that way in a while, but I thought it was supposed to have been finished already??
Also, does anyone have any good movie recommendations? I haven't been in a while and with the way the weather is looking it's probably going to be a good Saturday to head to the Theater... |
