I just want to give due props to the Fish Stock next to Ruthie T's on Thomas Drive... I haven't seen anyone talk about it, and when we were down in March I thought it was far and away the best meal we had, and that's quite a feat considering some of the places we stopped. I had a grouper dish, if my memory serves it was crusted in garlic and parmesan, and it was melt in your mouth amazing. The place was warm and inviting, and the entertainment was perfect-- blues guitarist/singer with a few old gospel numbers. If you haven't been, you are missing out.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. We have decided to eat at different places
than usual this trip. Do you have any other recommendations? |

What are your usual places? I know that Margit's review covered some places that looked amazing...
If you go to Fishstock, the bouillabaisse is also out of this world... |

We always eat at Hamilton's, Captain Anderson's & Sweet Basil's. We also like Hurricane Grille. My son likes Mikato. We have also been to Pineapple Willy's, Spinnaker, Sharky's, Shuckum's, Dirty Dick's & Harpoon Harry's. On the way home, we usually stop in at AJ's in Destin. We like to eat alot!

Ohh Hamilton's, how I miss them!
A forever favorite of mine is Hooks. It's one of the places in that Treasure Island marina/boat/eyesore :D ... I go there every time we are in town... great food and drinks and a fantastic place to have lunch by the water. The last trip we ate for the first time at Hammerhead Fred's... the food was excellent! Also Schooners is a local fave. And my guilty pleasure is Frankie D's... awesome pizza. |

I totally agree with your positive review of Fish Stock...we have eaten there many times since they opened. In my opinion, it's the best deal for your money. I've never seen a huge crowd there, either. As we leave, I always look over and see folks waiting in line outside of Capt. Andersons...I want to tell them that they could walk over to Fish Stock and get a better meal for their money...but then again, I think I'd rather keep it the beach's best kept secret.

Just to let you know inkyspal, Fish Stock relocated to Thomas Drive at the old Ruthie T's location. It's a still great atmosphere with the same EXCELLENT food and drinks.
And Trishben, thought you may be pleased to find out that some of the old crew from Hamilton's are running the show at Fish Stock! They have live music every night of the week, and as of this past weekend, Clutch (a very well known band in Panama City Beach) will be playing EVERY weekend through Memorial Day!! You'll see them soon back on Beach TV, and when word gets out the place is going to be packed! Luckily, they've got a huge bar connected to the restaurant... Monday night is also a cool night to go, there's a rockin' Blues Band that starts at 8:30 pm and plays to until about midnight. I'm with you on the herb crusted grouper too...it's unbelievable!

THANKS for the headsup about the new location!! We are going down next week and would've been really upset when we went to the old location and didn't find them there!!
Can you give me an idea of where the new location is on Thomas Drive...what's it near? Do they still have the "early bird specials?" |

Fish Stock is at 8503 Thomas Drive about 3/4 mile east of Miss Newbies, next door to Red Rose Pizzeria. Hope that helps!! And yes, they do still have the Early Bird Specials!

Fish Stock is great and I hear they have booked the band "Clutch" for a couple nights a week too! That should REALLY get the croud there!
I like Frankie D's, Time Out Sports Bar, Dusty's Oyster Bar, Spinnaker, Pasta Grille and Spicy Noodle for best places to eat on the beach. Hurricane Grill is my fav for the upper end (price). Man, I'm hungry now! lol |

PCBGirl,
I LOVE Frankie D's pizza... and not being from here I'm a sucker for Hungry Howie's garlic herb crust for delivery.... I also tried Shades at the Loop's mahi and blue cheese sandwich, and thought it was heavenly. Good food, seriously good beer. |

Clutch at Fish Stock!!
Hi, I'm Clutch's guitarist, The Captain. We are attempting to spread the word that we are performing at the Room at the Fish Stock Restaurant on Thomas Drive. Since we performed at Breakers for so many years, people still go there looking for us, but Breakers tells them we're broke up or are "on the road." And even this website, when you look up Breakers, STILL advertises Clutch performing there! We may threaten legal action soon. Beach TV filmed our show last night (Friday, June 9th), so our commercial should be airing soon. Hopefully, this will dispel all the false advertising the Breakers continues to do! Anyway, that said, the Fish Stock's food IS excellent, since it is owned and operated by Ray Pettis, who was at Hamilton's for over 20 years. And Clutch performs in the adjoining room every Wednesday through Saturday nights through Labor Day Weekend. Come out and see Clutch, a Panama City Beach summer tradition for over 35 years! Thanks,
The Captain |

Thanks for the heads-up, capmilt! We updated the Breakers listing and I expect Fish Stock's sales rep will be adding you guys to their listing ASAP. We're all big fans of Clutch here, no matter where you're playing.
Send us a Press Release and some photos and we'll post it on the website. Thanks! |

i will always be a CLUTCH fan. I even added the link to my message board that i am a moderator for.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PanamaCityPlaceToGoBeach/ We talk about places to stay, where to eat, etc.. just like here at tripsmarter. I am not sure if i am allowed to put the website to my board or not. IF not, then i apologize. But wanted to let members of CLUTCH know we back them 100%. Breakers can kiss my *****/ lol Last edited by alabamabeachlover; June-13th,2006 at 11:08 AM. |
