Restuarant King and Queen
We have vacationed many many years at PCB and feel like we have the restaurants down pretty good, considering we go down at least twice a year for two weeks each and eat out EVERY night. These are not in any order but here are our thoughts.
1) Captain Andersons: A bit expensive, but the food is very good as is the atmosphere. Can not go to PC without experiencing Captain Andersons. A little story when me and my best friend was growing up, we went to PCB every year, with my parents, then his parents. Once day as we were riding our “rented” scooters we decided to go eat at Captain Anderson’s. We had about $13 between us and we only heard about the restaurant, so we did not know what to expect. Anyway, we ended up each having a side salad. Now we can afford to eat there so our experiences are much better then 20 years ago. 2) Schooners: We love this place. Not only is the food surprisingly very good, but the atmosphere and the music is awesome. We normally go here about 3 or 4 times on a two week vacation. Awesome place 3) Boatyard: Our first experience was not real good. Nothing really that was bad, just was not something real special. We stayed with them and have been pleasantly surprised. Again great atmosphere and the staff seem to be very nice. Food is a lot better then years past we think. Gotta try it for yourselves. 4) Mikato: Funny place. We go there for the kids and this is always the place they choose. It is really affordable, filling and good food. Really good chefs working the tables. 5) Uncle Ernies: Again the kids like this place……so they can feed the cats that walk around. Crazy. Nice atmosphere and pretty cool place. The food is pretty good every time we have eaten there. 6) Hammerhead Fred’s: Reasonably priced and good food. This is always a stop for us. 7) Pineapple Willies: I sooooo bad want to like this place……..but we can not get ourselves to go back. Went a number of years ago. Probably about 8 years and got the rib baskets and was thoroughly disappointed. $18 or whatever and food was miniscule. The ribs WERE outstanding, but only had enough to wet my appetite. Have not been back since then and I know we are missing something because they are always busy, but I can not get the 6 or so rib bones out of my mind. Now, if they want to sell a rack to me, I will buy and buy and buy. 8) Montego Bay – Had the best ribs ever here and then also had the worst ribs ever. It is a hit and miss for us. 9) Sweet Basil: We really like this place. Right across from our condo so we ALWAYS go here. 10) Los Rancheros: Very good Mexican food. At least we think so. 11) Chicago Dawg: Great coney dogs and Chili. If you can get by the rude owner, you will enjoy the DOGS…..Rude it too strong, he is not rude in anyway, just not overly friendly. 12) Sonnys: We always go here. Either eat0in or take out. Either way, we enjoy the food. 13) Boars Head – Pretty expensive restaurant but the food is so good. We do not always go here, but if it was closer, we probably would 14) Breakers: Has always been our favorite restaurant – Like the food and love the view. 15) Angelos: Never been a regular at Angelos. No reason why, just have not. The times we have eaten there have always been good. Just do not stop in often. 16) Pompano: Almost forgot this one. At first we did not like it. Bad food. We tried it again and were hooked. Close to one of our favorites with some others mentioned above. 17) Frankie D’s: I personally really like their pizza’s and like the atmosphere in the place while waiting. I am probably forgetting some, but I am getting tired of typing |
