Exclamation Where to eat and not in PCB

I am completing a week-long stay in PCB...and I have been reading the message boards to determine if I have made the right choices in eating out. I have eaten at dozens of restaurants this week and would like to say that I am shocked at how many people like the ribs at Pineapple Willies! I have eaten ribs and Smokey Bones, Chilis, Sonny's, Houston's, to name a few. Pineapple Willies are the WORST ribs I have ever eaten! They were greasy and cold when served. They only have ONE bland, sweet, pasty barbecue sauce and they charge you a dollar for sauce! I cannot understand anyone who would recommend these ribs. I can only suggest that they do not eat ribs often. The 18.99 price tag was a rip off, and I certainly wished I had ordered something else. Same thing with the "drinks". Watered down margarita and bland. Slow service. EVERY other place we ate in PCB was better. Including: The Treasure Ship, Schooners, Sharky's, Spinnakers, Papanos, Capt. Anderson's, the Boatyard, Backyard Burgers and so on.

IMHO. Pineapple Willys is a good place to get a tee-shirt, but that's about it.

Xi Bowhunter, I would have to agree with you. The only other thing I enjoy from there is their Pineapple Willys drink. Those are quite tasty.

The first few times I had their ribs they were awesome. Lately, they've been hit or miss. Seems Willy's might be getting a little inconsistent.

Either way, I use the Pineapple Willys recipe they run on Beach TV to make my own ribs... and they turn out awesome!

1 or 2 racks
Dry Rub (I use Bad Byron's)
Sear each side on the grill for 3 or 4 minutes
Put 'em in the oven @ 200F for 3-4 hours
The meat falls off the bone, tastes great... you won't even need any sauce.

Thumbs down Salt Water Grill was a big disappointment

We ate at Salt Water Grill last Saturday (2 June) and were very disappointed with the food. Earlier we had dined at Boar's Head Tavern -- a great restaurant with first-class service-- and expected a similar experience. But my mahi-mahi was dry, the fried shrimp were ordinary, and the filet mignon was chewy and flavorless. The key lime pie was the only outstanding item. And we were rushed through our meal by a waiter whose service was perfunctory at best. As you may gather, we will not return to SWG.

The owner would be the one to help you. He would never laugh at a problem like that. He greeted us personally and we got 6 oysters on the house. He has a new breakfast place called Annother Broken Egg located on MIddle Beach Road. I plan to eat there before we leave this week. Right now I am about to eat some of Buddys Seafood steamed shrimp which I think is the best money or quality of food on the beach.

Shuckums

Will be writing MANAGEMENT about the experience i had at SHUCKUMS. I have had NUMEROUS people privately email me to do this and from the looks of it, SHUCKUMS needs to wake up and see who they are ticking off.

Bamaden, did the owners just walk out and pick you out of the crowd to give free oysters to or do you know these people? I would have loved the owners to walk around the time i was there and listen to what the patrons were saying about the staff on the outside. Plus that big addition had absolutely no one in it at 5:30 in the evening. Hopefully after dining hours is when they get busy. Oh wait, they take peoples 18% tips plus change left on their bill. Douple dipping, but that goes to the waiters/waitress's that dont work hard enough in my opinion.Management were the ones laughing at my complaint? Wonder how they get peoples money at the oyster bar area.?

Eating Out

Well it is just my opinion, but to get laughed at royally ticked me off so i am on a mission to let people know how "SoME" people get treated. Hey? Bamaden got 6 free ones on the house from them, so ya never know huh? Someone paid for them though, all those suckers getting stiffed with those gratuities. LOL!! But i cant say anything, i was one of those suckers.
