Looking for a good seafood buffet or all you can eat seafood buffet. Crab legs are a must. Dh wants to have one seafood feast while we're on vacation. We usually eat at the Mariner (I think that's the name) across the street from Zoo World. It's a really old restaurant, dark with a lot of country kitchen and a little nautical atmosphere thrown in for good measure. For some reason, we've always eaten there at least once a trip as long as I can remember. But last trip it wasn't open. I know it was off season but it also looked like there was some roof damage or coustruction/demo work going on. Anyone know if it's still open??? Also would love to hear other suggestions.

Bishop's is NOT an option. Ate there last trip and we were both far from impressed. We've also dined at the Treasure ship at Captain Crabby's. It was good, but I don't really like the spiced crab boil.

I actually logged on just now to post this same question. My family LOVES the mariner, and some of the staff there actually remembered my father and I from year to year because of a crab leg eating contest he and I had one year. I ate 17 plates full of crab legs, while he ate 15. I am kind of embarrassed by that.

I know they were closed down both times we visited PCB last year. Does anyone know if they ever opened back up?

Mariner's not open, yet.... BUT looks like it could be soon. The hotel they're building next to it is almost done and Mariner will probably reopen with the hotel.

Capt. Jacks's on Thomas Drive is another Seafood Buffet you might try.

If you're really wanting a great seafood meal that will leave you stuffed and happy, try Boon Docks Restaurant on Hwy 79. It's not a buffet, but the seafood is premium and the portions are large! Plus they let you mix and match. Go early to avoid a long wait.

I'll definately look and see if they're open in July. May try Captain Jacks's instead, or just go back to Captain Crabby's. That's DH's call.

We DO plan on eating at Boondock's and Hunt's oyster bar, thanks to all the reccommendations for both on here. And Liza's Kitchen for breakfast one morning. Can't wait!!!

I will NOT be going back to captian Jacks. We went twice last year and the food was terrible and over-priced both times. There are much better places to go in PCB than Capt. Jacks IMHO.

I've never tried Capt Crabbys...been to Bishops and Capt Jacks...was not impressed with either one. Not familiar with the Mariner at all I'm afraid. I miss Seven Seas buffet..good steak and seafood. Whatever happened to it? Are they completely gone or did they relocate somewhere else?

My DD went with friends to PCB a couple of weeks ago and had them check on the Mariner. I described the exact location to them (the adults) and they reported that they "didn't see it" They reported there's a parking lot to the left of the new hotel that was built/remodeled. They didn't see asign or the building. So either they weren't looking in the right place or it's no longer there.

I'm planning another trip for October for the Seafood, Wine and Music Festival and I'm gonna call around and see if I can find anything out. If I don, I'll post.

I hope it's not gone. I looove the Mariner, we ate there every single year. Really nice people, too. We tried Captn Jacks last trip and it was OK. I wasn't impressed with the food. But DH wanted to gorge on crablegs. So I ate 2 plates, DD each had 2 and we sat in the freezing AC for 1 1/2 while DH pigged out on crab legs. He got his $$$'s worth..I stopped counting plates at 12

GREAT SEAFOOD RESTAURANT, WIDE VARIETY OF FOOD TO CHOOSE FROM NOT ONLY SEAFOOD. BUFFET HAS SALADS, DESSERTS AND MAIN COURSES. A LITTLE PRICEY NOT AN EVERYDAY RESTAURANT. THE ORIGINAL RESTAURANT HAS BEEN TORN DOWN TO MAKE ROOM FOR A NEW HOTEL EARLY SPRING 2008. MAKE SURE TO CHECK TO SEE IF NEW RESTAURANT IS BUILT BEFORE GOING.

Mariner is gone. The old restaurant was turned into a conference center/bar for the new hotel that was built on the property (Sleep Inn, I think)

Nooooooo!! My DH's best friend actually came back yesterday and told us the same thing as swn4363. I've tried calling places in the area but many of the employees weren't locals and had no idea what I was talking about. My DH's friend vaguely remembered where it was, and asked around. Finally, a server at Angelo's (an older lady) told him it was closed. SHe actually seemed tickled that he asked. I think she knew the owners....I hate to hear this. I loved the Mariner.
