My family, mom and brother's family are all visiting from MO and wanted to taste some of the local food along with experience some fun dining atmosphere. We were excited by the advertised Luau and fire dancer
s -- (emphasis on the plural) and decided to partake in the event. We arrived to the restaurant early (5:30 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. start time) thinking we would try to get a good seat. After spending over $200.00 for everyone to eat buffet, we were told that there were two buffet times and we were not until 7:30 p.m. so we would have to leave and return later. Apparently there was a 6:30 serving before us. My brother asked if when we returned there would be enough seats on the beach in the luau section for all 10 of us to sit together. We were guaranteed there would be enough seats for our entire group. Upon our return, there were no seats available in the designated luau section, the food on the buffet was HORRIBLE!!! All of the food was over seasoned, tough, nasty tasting, and pathetic! As for the luau and entertainment, had we known, we could have saved our money, eaten good food some where else and walked up to the ropes of the designated luau section and watched the show for free like many people did. This is true for all other patrons at the restaurant. The only difference between the other patrons and us was that we were given a cheap plastic lei around our neck. We ended up sitting on the deck at a picnic table with all other patrons who didn't pay $22.95 for adults and $15.95 for children 3-11. As for the fire dancers, the group had four Polynesian dancers, three ladies and 1 man. The ladies did a lot of hula dancing, and the man was there as eye candy. The male dancer was the only one who did fire dancing. He did one number where he twirled a burning torch and that was all. Their advertising was somewhat false. There were not fire dancer
s as expected. Had we known all of this prior to going, we would not have spent our money!! I hope you don't. The entire evening was a BUST.
