There's a new restaurant opening soon - probably mid-February.

It's called the Boatyard and it's on Grand Lagoon sort of behind Capt. Anderson's.

The food will be "Key West style" and the culinary director is Doug Shook, Executive Chef of Louie's Backyard in Key West.

The menu looks awesome! Here's a sample of what the appetizers will be:

Bahamian Style Conch Chowder with Bird Pepper Hot Sauce
Cuban White Bean Soup with Ham and Potatoes
Conch Fritters with Hot Pepper Jelly and Wasabi Mayonnaise
Crisp Fried Crab Stix with Japanese Barbeque Sauce
Whitewater Clams Steamed with Coconut Milk and Lemongrass

Sound great!! Can you get to it by boat?

Actually, you can get to it by boat and there are going to be slips available for the customers who choose to do so...there's also going to be a water taxi for people who forgot to bring their boat with them!

Fantastic - I think it is so cool to pull up to a fine restaurant in your boat - I'm there !

One of the best things about Key West is Mallory Square at sunset. They have all these street performers, known as buskers, entertaining everyone as they enjoy the sunset celebration. One of my favorite restaurants in KW sits right on the edge of Mallory Square where you can see all the action. The restaurant is El Mason de Pepe, or something like that, and it has outside, open air seating, live bands and killer Mohito's (sp?).

Will the Boatyard restaurant have that Mallory Square "taste" to it?
