This is a response to your posting about the Beachcomber.
LTI, I think you made a good choice! I cannot emphasize enough the importance of staying right on the ocean and not anywhere else to save money..... preferably with an ocean view when you go to Panama City Beach. The section of hotels right along the ocean are nice because that is where all of the touristy knick-knack shops are and also restaurants. During spring break you will see a lot of teenagers and college-age people riding rental scooters and motorized carts to do their shopping and stuff. The majority of single, available girls will be staying in that niche too and you can see them walking around. There are a lot of places to buy souvenirs such as beads, shirts, hats, and other things along the coast. Be sure to bring a thick windbreaker gore-tex/etc. style coat because the nights will get chilly along the beach or if you go for a walk along the beach. My vote would be to stay at any place that is within WALKING DISTANCE of the superclubs because you don't want to be driving...... the police presence is strong there (as it should be) when you have crowds of drinkers. Trying to stay away from the beach is a waste of money because you don't get the social experience and also the ocean experience-- sounds and breeze, etc. See my other posts for other information on the area if you want. Have fun! |

Thanks for the kind words WWWILL..... anything I can do to help a newbie to the area be more comfortable and prepared on their trip to PCB I will be happy to help. I do write reviews and use very specific details about the way people are dressed and how they wear their hair, etc. because I think it helps people of different cultural and economic backgrounds get a feel for the area.
Thanks for the link for the reviews- there was an excellent crab shop just opposite the beach that I wanted to include in my reviews. The Tripsmarter boards helped me out a great deal last year as far as providing information on the area and making my own trip a lot more comfortable! Quote:
