Edgewater Beach Resort

Is it just me or does everyone that stays at this place love it. Going on 15 years straight staying at Edgewater.

You get:
Great rooms
Awesome pool
Restaurant
Pizza Hut
Golf

Everything someone would want. Love to hear feedback on edgewater.

We've never stayed there. Is it nicer than Long beach resort? I love Long beaches pool, and I know edgewater has the big Logoon pool, but, how are the rooms?

Hi Candy,

We stay at Edgewater 4 weeks of the year that we visit. We love it. The grounds are awesome and the pool is better then awesome. I have a friend who has a unit at Long Beach and we stayed a couple days with him. The Long Beach pool is no comparison to Edgewater in my opinion....not even close. Also, Edgewater has a restaurant and Long Beach did not at that time. Not sure about now........BUT, the room I stayed in at Long Beach was AWESOME. Better then our room at Edgewater, only because the rooms were overlooking the balcony. I am sure there are some rooms at Edgewater with rooms overlooking the balcony but not mine. I have to give the room design to Long Beach and the pools and amenities to Edgewater.

Yea I love that about Long beach. We had the 2 bedroom and it was so nice to have the huge window and sleep with the curtain open and be able to wake to the beauty of the ocean.

My son would probably love edgewaters pool. Maybe we will stay there next summer. I have seen some nice rooms there on VRBO.

I hear what all of you are saying. We started staying at Edgewater in the year 2000 and have been going back every year.

My only complaint is that there prices are getting a bit to high. With all the new condos ( 5 years or less ) I think that edgewater and the private owners need to adjust the prices with at 20+ years old resort.

But then again we will keep going back for the lagoon pool, large hot tubs, and the great view.

What I say is no matter how new those condos are, they just aren't as "good" as those good old condo's like edgewater and long beach, with the huge lagoon pools and huge parking lot in front. I just don't like the condos sitting right up on the road, and that cat walk deal over to a dark parking garage. Being a woman, I don't feel too safe if I need to go somewhere at night, to where as in places like edgewater, they have the security guards. I am willing to pay more for that security and also, the tall condos by the road with the cat walks pools don't compare.

I know what you mean Candy.

We always go down there in the winter time so we get to go through all the new condos with no problem, and like I said we go back to Edgewater for the many hot tubs, pools, and just the beautiful views. The new condos just don't have the large pool area like Edgewater, plus the 110 acre land mass. The other condos just don't have the nice scenery as edgewater does.

I just wish that they would update some of the condos. Don't get me wrong, some private owners have there condos fixed up really nice but there are also some dumps in there. and for the time of year that we vacation down there (Christmas/new-year) there prices are kinda high for that time of year.

But I still like the place and will keep going back.

I think that is why I like to rent from the owners instead of through a rental agency, ugh umm. Although I've never had a problem renting through a rental agency, I learned my lesson this summer, that even brand new condos can have "bad rooms" with lots of problems. I would be terrified to ever rent through another mom and pop rental agency, and next summer will probably rent from the owner or go back to resideo.com.
I have never stayed at edgewater myself, but, Long beach resort a few times. I have always wanted to stay at edgewater though. The pool looks really pretty.

I hear they are building another place next to Long beach resort that will have a beautiful pool as well.

Yes here's the link. Even though there are some units open it is still under construction. We have been keeping a close eye on it for the last 2 years. Maybe next year it will be ready.

I'll try to see if we can get to go through one of the room when where there in Dec this year.

The first 2 times we stayed at Edgewater were great, but the last time was a couple of years ago & our condo was terrible. We didn't get the type we requested even though we made reservations 4 months in advance & the one we got stuck with was filthy! Management's attitude was "Oh well". Stayed at Long Beach last year in a very nice unit & drove over to Edgewater to use the health club (which is shared by both) & had breakfast at the restaurant outside. Wonderful!!

I am hoping the construction is over when we go in June 07 and hopefully earlier than that too, but, in June I would like to spend my 8 day vacation at Long Beach in tower 2. : )
I wanted to try out the new condo next to long beach that is huge b ut I just don't like that parking garage that goes up to the top of it. I do not want to come out my front door and see a parking garage! or garage roof.: ( Strange things happening there.
