Peachy is on a distinguished road
Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort

My family recently visited PCB and we were looking for accomodations that offered a lot of recreation without leaving the resort...especially indoor facilities in case of bad weather. I will say we found it here. This was not the greatest place we've ever stayed, but we had few complaints. Had a two room with kitchen on the second floor facing the beach. Loved the indoor lazy river. A little strange about rules and wasn't the most modern, but overall it way okay.

Would be interested in others opinions.

Peachy, how were the rooms? I have a co-worker who stayed there many years ago when her son's baseball team was there for a tournament. He probably was around 12 years old then. I would say about 9 years ago. She stated that then the rooms were not the neatest, they had totally mismatched furniture. Everytime we are down we notice that place is packed though. Are the rooms still like that? Yes, it does have alot to offer. The fact that it has a tiki bar and gift shop and lazy river ride, doesn't it have a putt putt golf also? I've always seen families going in there with several children. Hope you guys had fun! Peachy, did you check out at all the Edgewater Beach Resort down there? Here is their link. It has several restaurants on the property, a kids area. A nice pool. Might be something you want to consider in the future. We like going in early September. You get a fall rate usually if after Labor Day and it is still around 90 where you can swim. We have never stayed here but it is very nice looking and I have read reviews on the place.

Beachnut: I guess you could say the furniture was "mismatched", but I wasn't really there for the decor. As long as it is clean and serves it purpose, that was all we needed. Considering people are coming up from the beach with wet bathing suits, I can understand a place not putting to much thought into matching furniture etc. The beds were clean and the maid service was okay..we did have to ask for toliet paper once.
Yes, they do have putt-putt golf, a playground, outdoor grills, several tiki bars, store on the property, hot tub, cabana rentals etc. We didn't check out Edgewater or any others, but I do have book I got from the chamber of commerce for next time. Once we checked into the Sandpiper and checked the quality of the room, we paid (as instructed-in full), there are NO refunds. I think they cater to a lot of college kids during Spring Break etc. and have to be strict!

I'm with you. As long as it is clean. I cannot get my husband to stay on the strip anywhere though. We stay at the west end of the beach in a townhouse with 4 units all beachfront of course. They share one walkover even though the walkover is only half there. The steps are gone due to the hurricane. He is not a person that cares for huge crowds. I myself would like to stay somewhere like Edgewater Beach where there is a nice pool as we do not get in the ocean.

You are absolutely correct with this. BIG spring break place -- lots of parties at the tiki bar etc.
Glad you enjoyed your stay!

dwshort01 will become famous soon enough
We stayed at Sandpiper last year, It was the WORST place we have stayed at in PCB for the last 6 years. The service was horrible, the rooms we dirty, and when we got to our room the door handle was broke, they had to call maintenance so we could even enter, not to mention a gulf view room meant that we had the view of another bulidings roof, so much for gulf view, we had no view of the beach. Not to mention they charge if you want a TV remote. The prices that I was quoted on the phone were different when I checked in. Luckily I had a copy of my comfirmation letter stating what kind of room and rate. This resort is one I would definately pack Lysol in your suitcase. So you can sleep in the bed, that is how dirty it was. The whole vacation was a disaster, especially being my daughters first time to Florida. EVERYONE BEWARE!! IT IS WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY TO STAY IN A FRIENDLY AND CLEAN HOTEL!! They define the saying you get what you pay for!!

Sounds like too many spring breakers were in that room. I know I wouldn't stay there! I would prefer to pay more and get a clean place also and would have refused to sleep there. Hate to think what was in those beds. Yuck!
