How far is Mexico Beach from PCB?

I've never been there, but, when observing the Mexico beach website I decided it was pretty and wanted to see it in person. How far is it from PCB and how do I get there from the bridge leading out of pcb?

Thanks~

candygoingtopcb, my husband and I drove over there a couple of years ago. It is about 35 miles. Here is a link to a mapquest map of how we went. You go down by Tyndall Air Force Base, and it seems like forever to get through there. It is not near as busy as PC Beach, you will be surprised at the difference between Mexico Beach and Panama City Beach. But we liked the look of the place. Will try to find some of the pics I have that I took of Mexico Beach and put in the photo gallery. We even drove on over into Gulf County to Beacon Hill as I had read there was a lighthouse there. Imagine our surprise to see what was their lighthouse. A metal frame with a beacon light on a little nothing road across the highway from the beach. We laughed our head off!

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I would love to see the pics! It looks very pretty and serene and tranquil on the website. The sand looks so untouched, but, I'm sure they did it up some for the website. I actually like the action and the people on PCB more than too quiet and secluded, but, I just thought it would be nice to stay there a couple of nights before actually getting to PCB for our real vacation. I didn't know where it was, but I thought it couldn't be too far. Its further than I thought! Anyway, thanks bunches for the reply! : ) Funny about the lighthouse. I bet you all were surprised.

We were. There is a motel there called El Governor! And a little mom and pop motel if it hasn't been torn down. They were on my 2003 disc I burned. That route that the map shows is exactly the way we went. Found what few pics I have. Not the best in the world. Try taking them in a moving car!

I hope you clicked on each of the pictures so you could view them larger. There really is nothing to do there. Do not see many people there on the beach at all when driving through. I am 46 and my husband 55 and we love to drive the strip and go in all the Alvin's Islands and rent scooters and waverunners. At least there is still some young in us. We enjoyed our first canoe trip last year also, loved it!

Mexico Beach

We drove down to Mexico Beach for one day. It is very beautiful and peaceful. We walked up the beach for a mile or so and saw maybe 5 other people. We found hundreds of very nice shells and if you like to watch aircraft....that's where to do it. They do maneuvers over the beach and fly very fast and low! We really enjoyed that. We mentioned staying there the next year....my son said NO! There is nothing to do...he is 13.
