I will go with a top 2, because we have always stayed nice places and been happy except twice.
Number 2 is the Port of Call motel. There were nails sticking out of our bed and urine on the mattresses.
Number 1 worst place was the Celedon surprisingly. The week we went was a georgous week, with glistening blue ocean water. Thank goodness for that, because the room we got and the pools there sucked BIG TIME!
I knew someone staying there that had a great 3 bedroom condo tho, so, obviously we just got stuck in a tacky room. The people we rented from were rude and wouldn't change us among other things.



3 best places ever stayed.

1. Long Beach resort. Tower 2, 3rd floor. I think it was room 321 or 327.
I have it in a picture. I'm going to request it next year.

2. Small motel Beachbreak by the sea. I enjoyed their jacuzzi and pool area. Reminded me of childhood vacation. Clean rooms. We stayed beach level.

3. Continental Condos. Always got a great clean room here. Affordable and nice people every time. No jacuzzi, but, clean pool. Love the rooms tho for the price.

My favorites always seem to get paved over for high rises. First was the RV park on the beach... replaced with the Long Beach Towers. The other two I can't even remember.... So sad.

Oh well.

Urine on the mattres? Sounds like a great place to stay.

Worse place we stayed was, can not remember the name but it was across the street from the beach. We got in one year to PCB about 3:30AM after driving straight through. We could not check in until 11AM so we were tired and had time to kill. We stopped into a place and asked just to sleep for a few hours. We were with another couple. Anyway, they finally allowed us to have a room for $20. We got in, layed on the bed with our clothes on for about 30 minutes, saw about 2 dozen roaches and our wives decided they had enough. Personally, I wanted to stay and sleep, but we left, and went to Waffle House for about 3 hours and then went on the pool deck of our condo and slept in the chairs.

Probably the El Dorado (aka El Kukaracho) or Whites Apts.

Both are gone! (thank goodness!)

Most of the sleazy motels we stayed in when we were on highschool spring break are long gone, but there was a "PINK" motel right in the middle of the strip that was completely NASTY! I can't remember the name of it, but stay away! Anyone know the name of it?

That doesn't sound familiar, it saw close to shipwreck LTD and a chrome 50's style restruant.

BEWARE the EMERALD BEACH this condo is 3rd ratre and not worht the discounted prices they are posting. The romm a re small and balcony is tiny. The pool is a mudhole compared to Edgewater and Long Beach. They try to blind you with the front lobby and the so called sports bar. If you are going to a business meeting this would be fine. NOt a family resort.

Man.....You REALLY despise Emerald beach don't you?

I feel that the Advertising from the Condo Main Office and the desperate owners who are trying to rent is very misleading. This is supposed to be a 5 Star resort. The beachside facality is far from 5 Star. I jujst hate to see other people pay hard earned money for sometihing that they will not get.
One trip per year is all a lot of people get to come and I hate to see them get taken for a ride like I Did. And get this there is nothing else left to complete to go with the beachside tower. The uncompleted part is all across the road. I am sorry about my previous spelling. I was so mad.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. It kind of sticks with you doesn't it.

Could the motel have been the Peeks Motel? It used to be pink but now it is coral colored. They are still in business when we were there 2 weeks ago the no vacancy sign was lit. The funny thing was the letters k & s were not lit up so the motel sign said PEE Motel.
