Agree about Sunrise BEach, it's a nice property plus we had free wireless internet and beach chairs too. Only drawback was the tightness of the parking deck below the resort, especially with an SUV (Mercedes ML). Can't imagine someone in a Suburban maneuvering it.

Sunrise or Emerald BEach? Emerald didn't look quite "done" when we were there in June, even though we saw tons of folks checking in. Boy, the construction is getting ridiculous, can't even enjoy XM radio while driving down the beach due to the signal blockage.

The Sunrise Beach is by far the best for I have stayed at bouth. The Emerald Beach has spent all the money on the lobby and skybridge and the parking deck side and nothing will be open for some time because of lack of permits forf food and beverage. The pool is a 2 Star condo type and does not compare to Edgewater Long Beach or Sunrise Beach. The balcony is so small they have only 3 chairs for a 2 bedroom. Our room was very plain compared to Sunrise and they have no grill area at Emerald Beach. It is a long way to your car. You have to take 3 different elevators to get there and a very tight turn getting in and out.
Several people were renting a taxie because of the hassell of getting yourcar out. Not enough money on the beach side as in the pool, baloncy and grill area.

Wow, glad to know that info before I concidered booking. We were very pleased with our 1 bedroom Sunrise unit, granite countertops, top of the line appliances, jacuzzi tub with seperate shower in master bedroom. It had a bunk room instead of the hallway bunks too, which was nice.

Emerald Beach does not have a jacuzzi tub, and the bunks are in the hallway with the head right by the front door. The Sunrise Beach of course as you know has a bonus bunkroom. We also stayed in a 3 bed 3 bath on the 19th floor with a wrap balcony with a western view that is unbeliveable. You can see for miles down the strip and the beach and the decor is the best we have seen with a hand painted sunrise on the bar. The Sunrise is by far the best.

We almost booked a unit at Emerald Beach Resort for October, before I committed, I called the office at EBR and was told that the lagoon pool, lazy river, would not be done until spring. Star Bucks was suppose to open by the end of august. The owner was offering a great deal for a one bedroom (now I know why) but I was concerned that the beachside pool and hot tub would be overcrowded so we didn't rent it. I am glad now, I don't want to go on vacation for some R&R and have major construction noise going on in the same complex that I am staying. When everything is done, it sounds like it will be a really great place to stay at.

Still it has a poor layout small beachside pool, small balconies, dining is across the street not beachside, no whilpool tubs in bath or in the 2 I stayed in none vrbo 2327 has a 19 inch TV in the living room and the 19th floor room was very skimpy. The whole place looks like they ran out of money. Yes VRBO has a 19 in TV in Main Room can you belive it. I has to use binoculars to see TV. This is a major disapointment not made for beach vacation layout is for conventions. Not a 5 Star. Try Boardwalk or Edgewater, Long Beach, Grand Panama or any of the new conds. This place stinks of skimpy planning and owners who have a cheap room I keep thinking of bad things and general cheap ***** look there are so many I can't think of them at one time.

Smile Just came back from Emerald Beach 3/01/08

We just spent a week at Emerald Beach and had a great stay. I have stayed at many places in PCB over the years and think that EB is excellent. Our condo unit was immaculate and roomy. The ktichen was huge. I loved having starbucks on site and by parking on the 3rd level only had to take one elevator to get to my condo. I agree that the pool is a tad on the small side but it is heated and was never crowded. The hot tub was very spacious. Valet parking is available is necessary and all of the staff were courteous and helpful. Overall I was very pleased with my stay at Emerald Beach.

Did Wyndham Resorts acquire 100 units of the Emerald Beach Resort with plans of acquiring 156 more? That is what this part of this press release states. The Wyndham Resort shows the same address as Emerald Beach Resort.

WYNDHAM VACATION OWNERSHIP DEBUTS IN PANAMA CITY BEACH

Beachfront Resort Becomes Company’s Fifth Property in Florida Panhandle

ORLANDO, Fla 09-04-2007
Wyndham Vacation Ownership, the world’s largest vacation ownership company and a member of the Wyndham Worldwide family of companies (NYSE: WYN), today announced the acquisition of 100 vacation ownership units at the Emerald Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, Fla. from Emerald Beach Resort, LLC. The company also entered into a contractual agreement to purchase 156 additional units. The acquisition is the company’s first in Panama City Beach and will become Wyndham’s fifth vacation ownership property in the Florida Panhandle. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Situated in an area with rapidly developing amenities, the Emerald Beach Resort is located at 14700 Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach. It is anticipated that the newly-acquired condominium-styled units, with spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico, will be made available for occupancy in fall 2007 as part of the company’s FairShare Plus by Wyndham vacation ownership exchange program. The new Panama City Beach location complements several existing Wyndham Vacation Ownership properties in nearby Destin, Fla., including Bay Club, Wyndham Bay Club II, Wyndham Beach Street Cottages and Wyndham Majestic Sun resorts.
