There is a huge condo complex across from Pineapple Willy's and it's sitting empty. Someone told me they filed bankruptcy and I guess it will go on after they get organized with their finances. This place is HUGE! Not even on the beach. Not sure what all is on that property but does anyone know? Looks like it could be a casino for the future. It's kinda creepy looking.

I was told last week that the original contractor ran out of money to finish the project but they had some other investors that were ponying up to complete it - it's huge, it's ugly, but I'll bet you could buy a piece of it for pretty next to nothing at this point! There are over 700 units.

I say w/in five years - if not sooner - there will be gambling in Bay County - when the rendering for that monster project first appeared on Front Beach Road - it looked like something right off the Vegas strip....oh well - we might as well enjoy the revenues it will bring - unfortunately all the other consequences as well - I just don't believe the "good ol' boys" will be able to stop that progress.

DRVR NO8 - and I had to go ahead and renew cuz it expires on 6/28!

I think that the #8 has become synonymous w/ Dale Jr - just like the #3 did his dad - but, I suppose we'll see what the wicked stepmama will do about that!!! I am sure that HUGE $$$$ are involved!!!

Are you a NASCAR fan?

Actually, I'm a fan of almost all forms of racing (my hubby calls them "combustible sports"). Growing up in Indiana, the Indy 500 was what I was weaned on & the whole month of May was exciting. Unfortunately, things change, but I still love it.
Mark Martin has been my guy in NASCAR for many years, but I've always liked Dale Jr. I agree that he should have the #8, but like you said it depends on what his stepmother thinks it's worth. So, don't go changing your plates too soon, you never know!

I remember that lot being cleared back in 2005 which was when we were down last. That won't help the looks of PC Beach, having something only partially complete.

Talked to some real estate gurus last night over a few adult beverages - and even THEY are upset at the way things are going - probably b/c they can't sell anything!!!

But for real, there is concern about that UGLY CONCRETE MONSTER - I say, let's have an "imploding" party!!!!!

Any update on this?

When we were down there in November, there were lots of guys in hard hats leaning on their shovels all around the place. It still looked like the place had a long way to go before it would be ready.

I don't know anyone who's stayed there. You're right about the cold. It's pretty bad when you think of the predicted high of 50 this Sunday as being wonderful. Heading down to FLA next Friday the 7th; getting anxious!

I hear it has some fountain similar to the Bellagio that runs Friday and Saturday night.

We are going to stay at Shores of Panama May 10--May 17. Got a condo through VRBO. Very good deal and includes alot of extras.
Includes 2 lounge chairs on the beach, free DVD's, workout facility, etc.
The pool does look really big and it has a section of the pool that is one of those that is shallow and then gets deeper while you walk out.
Has a stage outside for live entertainment and 2 tiki bars.
I'll report back later in May as to how we liked it.

Wow...has a fountain like Bellagio? That sounds cool.
