Boardwalk Beach Resort Report

We just returned from a week's stay at Boardwalk (the condo, not the hotel). We rented our room through Destin Resort Rentals, and it was a flawless transaction from the very start. Andy was so good about answering all my questions promptly (and I had quite a few). When we arrived, the room was exactly as it looked on the website. Even though check-in wasn't until 3, he had told me he would try to get the room ready sooner since we were arriving earlier, and sure enough at 12 they were already in there cleaning it, and it was ready by 12:30. The room was fabulous, very clean and well maintained. (If anyone is interested, it was room 1003). We had a 2 bedroom, and the bedroom in the back was small, but had a 32 inch flat screen TV and DVD player. The kitchen was large, with all the amenities of home, a side by side fridge with icemaker in the door. The room had a huge pantry, microwave, etc.

The living room was large, also with a flat screen 32" TV and DVD player. It was very bright, with floor to ceiling glass doors, so nothing to block your view of the gulf.

The master bedroom was beautiful. The whole backside is windows, so you can lie in your bed and have a beautiful view of the gulf and beaches. There is a door to the side that walks out onto the balcony. The bedroom also has the same flat screen TV and dvd player. The master bath has a dressing area with a big walk in closet, and a double vanity with a chair in the middle so you can sit and put your makeup on, etc. From there you go into the bathroom where there is a garden tub in a room of it's own, then the toilet and a glass shower. Plenty of room to get dressed.

The balcony was very deep, which I loved. We had plenty of room out there to move around, and there were 6 chairs to sit in. I wish there had been a couple of chaise lounges out there, but we were okay without them. We had a perfect view of the pool, and on the weekends we sat out on the balcony and listened to the band.

The lobby area of the Boardwalk is beautiful. So is the boardwalk area above the pool. The pool is big, and has a gradual entrance at the shallow end. At night, the whole area is breathtaking. They have a restaurant/bar by the pool that was open every night until 10pm, and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. On Wednesday night they set up a movie screen on the beach and showed a movie. There is a seperate pool area for children that is soft to walk on, and has high powered water guns, fountains, etc. for the kids to play in, and a shallow kiddie pool.

Parking was great, we never had a problem finding a parking space, and they have 5 high speed elevators (bigger than most places I've stayed too) so we never had to wait more than a few seconds on one. Luggage carts were for the most part easy to find, and security is ever present there.

The only negative I have about the room is the internet connection. I had asked if there was broadband internet and was told yes, but I never got it to work. Not sure if there was just a problem with it, or that room has no connection. It wasn't a big deal for us though, and had we contacted them on Monday when they opened the problem could have possibly been solved.

As you can tell, we really enjoyed our stay there and I would definitely stay there again. I sure wish I was still there!!
