Hi, I'm visiting PCB for first time on early December and would like some advise on where to stay. I prefer a newer condominium like Emerald Beach Resort but after reading some posts here it seems there is construction going on there.
Anyways, I'll be bringing my wife and 3 kids. Would a 1 Bedroom with Kingsize Bed (with bunk bed on hallway and a pull out bed in living room) and 2 baths be OK for us? Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I'd recommend Dunes of Panama for value, location and amenities. "E" building is the newest. They have three pools, one heated. "C" building is closest to the heated pool with a great sunset view. I'd also recommend compairing prices on VRBO.com. I just booked a week in Dec. for $425.00 total at Emerald Beach.

We're staying at Tidewater Beach Resort. My wife's friend bought a unit there and she said if we bring her TVs and set it up for her, we could stay there for 1-2 weeks free. I'll let you guys know how that place looks and I'll post pictures!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR DECEMBER!

I'm gathering that you haven't been to PCB before. It's a great place to be!
Some advise for a first time visit. Pack a tote full of household items. Dish soap and / or dishwasher detergent, aluminum foil, salt & pepper, sugar, any condiments you like, cooking oil or non-stick spray, laundry soap & dryer sheets, spare TP, coffee and filters. You won't have to mess with this stuff if you're planning to go out for every meal and pack your dirty clothes home, but since you're staying at a condo it's so easy to fix quick meals and do laundry there. There are NO supplies provided. The law doesn't allow anyone to leave opened supplies for the next renter. So, plan on packing home or throwing away anything you buy and don't use. A lot of the so called good places to eat and tourist attractions will be closed during your visit in December. Try not to be dissapointed and just make the best of your trip. Ripley's Believe it or Not is pretty cool and the 4D movie is great. For dinner try The Gulf Club in Panama City (about two miles east of the Hathaway Bridge on HWY 98, across from the U-Haul). Great food at reasonable prices! Be sure to stop at the Florida Welcome Center for free orange juice and the latest issue of the Panama City Beach Vacation Guide. I can't stress this enough, SUNSCREEN! Don't let your first day in the sun ruin the rest of your stay. If you choose to burn do it your last day so the drive home will be that much more miserable. ENJOY! |

Avoid the Summit!
I took my family to PCB for a week and Everything was great except where we stayed. The Summit was doing repairs on a unit on the floor below ours. The noise was so bad we couldnt even sleep, talk, watch tv etc... The office said it had no control over those matters but the noise would end in 3 hours. FOUR days later it ended. We'll be back next year but were looking for someplace that has control of the place they "run" and cares about the people who pay them. I'll be watching for suggestions. Thanks!
