Calypso Resort & Towers

Anybody stayed here? I hear it is very nice and not too expensive. We are coming Sept 19th for a week. My buddy and his wife suggested this place, and they are coming along with us, but i wanted to get some other opinions as well.

Are you going down for the Bike Rally? I've never been to PCB but am thinking of checking it out for the Bike Rally. We use to always go to Myrtle for their Bike Week but they've passed some new laws which messed things up for everyone.

Calypso Towers is nice... relatively new.

Haven't stayed there, but I wouldn't hesitate to try it out.

It's right next to Pier Park and the new pier that will be open... so that's a big plus.

Also, if you stay there, check out Fatty's Sandwich Shop right across the street. They'll deliver to your room!

Is bike week that week? I was actually hoping there wasn't anything going on that week to add to the relaxation factor.

swn5363 - Thanks for the info. I've heard some people around here who went to the spring rally and had a great time so I'm looking forward to checking it out myself. This will also be my first time to PCB.

I appreciate info from anyone on 'what not to miss' and 'where all the action will be'. Thanks.

My wife and I have stayed at the Calypso twice, in October 2007 and 2008. We rent from the owners that live in Destin, FL. We are going to stay there again this October.

We love the resort. We have never been disappointed in anything. But remember it is a high-rise. We stay on the 22nd floor.

You can walk to Shuckums, Fatty's, Calypso Beach Cafe or the Pier Park. Dusty's Oyster Bar is just down the street.

The Calypso has a Tiki Bar between the two pools with flat screens and $1.50 drafts. The pool deck is very nice.

If you like an upscale condo, oyster bars within walking distance, beer and surf fishing then I think you will be a happy camper.

I attached a pic of the pool deck I took while sitting at the Tiki Bar.

Thanks for the replys! We are booked for sept 19-26th, and staying on the 18th floor.

I told my wife, if you can't find me, just look for the guy holding the fishing rod down on the beach.

The last time we stayed at the Regency Towers was 2003. We have been staying at the Sunbird, Long Beach. Now our favorite is the Calypso.

Regency

We actually stay at the Regency every year, this year will be the first time we haven't stayed there in probably 10 years. It is an older condo, but we like it.

We have some great memories of the Regency Towers. I read that they recently did a remodel / upgrade to the Regency. One thing we really miss is the Quarter Deck Oyster Bar that was just east of there.

More than likely I will be staying at the Regency next year, and I am looking forward to seeing the upgrades. The Quarter Deck was my all-time favorite place to eat. If I was a little more adventrous, I would open the place back up myself.
