Talking Atlas Oyster House

The Atlas Oyster House in Pensacola has to be one of the BEST places to dine while in Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, Gulf Breeze... really where ever you are at. I know the owner personally and he and his staff take a HUGE amount of pride in their restaurant. Only the Best of The Best! You are treated like family, the view is beautiful!!!! You can dine inside or outside, GREAT cocktails and the oysters are Fabulous!!!!!!!! But so, is everything else on the menu. They have something out of this world for Everyone!! A must Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was absolutely the worse place I have ever experienced or dined at in my life! My family and I were vacationing in Fla for the first time and stopped by the Atlas Oyster Bar on 29 Jul 06. First, we requested non smoking area and the hostess took us to the patio and sat us. Within 5 minutes there were 3 different people smoking at the table adjacent to us. The waiter we had was not aware of the menu items...ie....he had to be told that the meals we ordered came with salads. His excuse for not bringing them out was "My bad...I just started here a week ago." No biggy if he is new...but he should not talk to customers by saying "My Bad." Now to the food...overpriced overpriced overpriced....I have no problem paying good money for great food but for the $120 I spent here I would have been better off going to the Red Lobster. The food was not hot...very poorly presented...and the waiter was not very prompt to check on our drinks or other service while eating. I would highly encourage everyone to think twice before selecting the Atlas Oyster Bar to dine at....One more thing...we originally were going to the Fish House (same building/same management) and was turned away at the door for no good reason. I would accept an email back from the management if they would like to talk about this reply/quote.

poor service can make the best chef/kitchen/owners look like fools. the frontline, the ppl who interact with the customers make or break the experience.

I hate you had that experience!

Hi, I really hate you had that experience . I live in Gulf Breeze and am a Local to the area. I eat at Atlas Oyster House and the Fish House all the time.

The smoking thing... well, smokers have to go some where.. can you tell I smoke, but uncool if you asked for no smoking. I guess most of us here in Florida have gotten accustom with No Smoking on the inside, so outside we hope is "a given".

The food is always good, I hope you and your family will give it one more try. I know these guys and they would "Kill Themselves" to make you happy. Please never hesitate to let merchants / owners / chefs, know. They want to know!

Anyway, from a Local who Loves It.... everyone has a bad day, I hope you will give them a try again!

Elizabeth... I love this web site
