We're small-jobs contractors who came here from North Dakota to repair storm damage from Ivan & Dennis. We do the jobs big contractors don't want, inside & out (except for roofing. We try really hard not to roof. :) ). We build/rebuild fences, do landscaping, tile of all kinds, carpentry from framing to finish, painting, decks, planters, benches, etc.
We've been staying with friends, but now we're looking for a nice place to rent that doesn't require a lease or a credit rating in order to live there. We're Indians, & the great majority of us don't have credit ratings - if we don't have the cash, we don't buy a thing. That shouldn't count against us, but recently, it seems to be an obstacle. We have super references both from back home & locally, but so far, we haven't found a suitable place & the few that looked good have this hangup with credit scores. We don't want to get into credit cards.
