The places I've been...the people we see....

This past month I saw a monkey riding a border collie while the two of them were herding a pigmy ram....go ahead, re-read it...laugh...done...don't believe me? Thanks to The News Herald in Panama City Beach, you too can have the pleasure of this sight by clicking here to see the photo.

Now why was a monkey riding a border herding a ram? Why obviously it was the annual Horse Show in Panama City. Spring has sprung and our markets are alive with events, festivals and beautiful weather to warm us up for summer in the Southeast! In April, I visited New Orleans, Key West, Destin, and Myrtle Beach and I assure you these destinations cannot wait to host you and millions like you for vacations. Here are some great events coming up in our wonderful cities:

Atlanta - For a historical festival check out the Sweet Auburn Springfest and for the sports fans, here is a look at the upcoming Braves Schedule.

Destin - The infamous Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival

Key West - For some Cuban flair, check out the Cuban American Festival and for one of the best annual events in Key West check out PrideFest.

Myrtle Beach - You won't find yourself crabby at this years Blue Crab Festival and you can't overlook the annual Sun Fun Festival!

New Orleans - Bring your appetite and wet your whistle at the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience.

Panama City Beach - Looking for some great food, look to the Panama Shrimp and Oyster Festival.

As you can see, there is something for every one over the next two months in our wonderful Southeast destinations. Make your plans, get your reservations, call all your friends and plan an incredible week around one of these great spring and summer events. Whether it be the food, the music, the activities, or the cities themselves - there are things for families and couples and singles alike. My favorite part of any festival is the people watching...you never know what you might see....even a monkey riding a border herding a ram!
