    Tents on Panama City Beach

Beginning this Sunday, the "Leave No Trace" ordinance will be enforced in Panama City Beach, FL.

All your personal items including, but not limited to, tents, chairs, toys, umbrellas and coolers will be removed and disposed of if left on the beach between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

On public beaches or with the upland landowner’s permission, personal property may be stored overnight at the toe of the dune at your own risk.

I can see toys and coolers but tents are big and that is not a easy thing to put up and take down every day. If someone is going to be there all week and as long as they take it down before they vacate their property what's wrong with it? But I don't own one and don't sit on the beach much.

Now if only we could get a "Leave no garbage" ordinance going, think how much better PCB would be. Or better still, the folks who leave garbage or sink their empties would just stay at home. YOU people are not welcome at PCB!

We hardly ever see tents, etc left on the beach. Then again we're usually there in October when things have slowed down. On the garbage subject, I agree with Phinstotheleft. We always find our share of bottle tops and cigarette butts. I guess no matter where you go there will always be garbage goobers blazing a trail.
