Johnny Rockets:Great place before the movies!
We hit Johnny's before we hit the Rave Movies at Destin Commons. Last Friday went in at about 630 PM and bellied up to the bar, the Parkster and I. Nice kid at the counter was quick on the order and I told him to order MY burger for me. He went with the Smokehouse and it was a great choice. BBQ sauce, bacon and cheese and oh yeah, a big ole hamburger patty all wrapped up nice and tidy in meat wrapping paper. The Parkster got his normal cheeseburger plain and we threw in an order of the cheese fries which were nothing special but nice and hot and melty. Barqs Root Beer for me and DP for sonny boy.
Service was very friendly and on top of things in this very busy eatery. I asked the manager and found they were number four out of 150 in June in volume. I can believe it. Despite the crowd, quick in and quick out means you make the movie on time and you are so full you save $20 by not buying cokes and popcorn.
Hint: Buy your movie tix BEFORE you go eat and then waltz by the huge lines at the movie ticket office.
Rockets also has some good looking shakes and much more than burgers if you are not a burger fan.
I am going to give them 4 out of 5 shells on my rating scale. You will get away from dinner for two for about $20 or so but remember to take care of your server.
