    missing Destin and Ft. Walton

A few summers ago, I had the chance to visit beautiful Destin/ Ft. Walton area. My son was working on the beach there, so we came to visit him. I am so saddened and worried about people he knew with this hurricane and hoping and praying that all will be safe. That was the best vacation I ever went on and I'd sure love to go back. TWC isn't all that informational about this area. Hope to find out more.. Stay safe y'all... My heart goes out to all.. *HUGS*

I don't have any info on Destin/FWB right now except there was a report of 40-50ft. waves.

Hurricane news from Panama City is available, though.

One of the national channels shows roads out in Okaloosa area. Don't just watch Weather Channel. Fox, MSNBC, etc. have plenty of coverage.

I was supposed to be married in Destin on 9/20, next Monday. Although disappointed about delaying our wedding, it pales in comparison to what Floridians are going through. Does anyone have any information about Destin Pointe? Thanks.

    beaches

I just posted this same message on another thread. Hope that is ok. I am just trying to get some information to see if we should still try to come to Destin for our vacation which should have started yesterday.

Thanks for the info. I can't make the Destin's cams work. I am particularly interested in the condition of the beaches and the main roads. I know Hwy 98 between Destin and Ft. Walton is gone.

Our reservation was to start yesterday. We were suppose to stay at the Sterling Sands. They have a recording that says the condos were not damaged---just sand in the pool and if you were to check in Wednesday through Sunday that your arrival need to be rescheduled. From what I have seen on the Weather Channel, I just can't imagine that there is much beach left or that restaurants, etc would be ready for tourist by Monday.

We are just sick for the beautiful gulf area. It is the most beautiful area we have ever seen and we love it there. We only started coming there 4 years ago. We come for our anniversary---4 years this year. I hurt for the post of the two couples who were suppose to get married and honeymoon there.

I would appreciate any insight. I did see some pictures someone posted on the PC site---it didn't look good.

    Thanks
