Lobsterfest in PC

Well, for those of you that could not make it to Panama City Beach this past weekend, you missed an incredible time out at Schooner's 16th Annual Lobsterfest!

Thousands visited throughout the weekend to enjoy the music(big thanks to Barry and Greg for the Dave Matthews covers) and to participate in the festivities. There was an impressive sand sculpture contest, give aways, auctions...and of course Lobster!!

This years Spiny Tail winners came in at 9.2, 9.1, and 9.0 pounds...damn BIG lobsters!

Schooner's very good friend Ray kicked off the charity with a $1500 donation, not to take home two of the lobsters but to actual set them free. In a showing of great humanity, he pledged the bid in order to release to very lively 6 pound lobsters back in to the Gulf so they could be part of the fun next year....possibly bigger and better...

Thanks to Schooners for having us all out, it was a great party...and for those who have never made it, put it on the calendar for next year, it might be after Labor Day but the party is still strong here in the beautiful panhandle!

This was the first year in a long time that I missed Lobsterfest. BUt I hear it was a good one! Nice of you to let 2 of the lobsters go, but I bet they would have been mighty tasty!

Holy crap, how big (length) is that lobster in the picture, was that the winner? How far out do they trap them?

Hi Trishben- yea, that was 1 huge lob- The man holding it said it was the largest caught- somewhere around 9lb's i think. Length -not really sure
