Zoo Atlanta is located in Historic Grant Park only minutes from downtown Atlanta and less than a mile from Turner Field, the home of the Atlanta Braves. The Zoo is one of Atlanta's oldest cultural attractions dating back to the day the circus came to town... and never left!
A recent business trip to Atlanta had me going to meetings in different areas of the city and surroundings each day, so I chose a hotel that had easy access to all points. It's proximity to I-75/I-285 interchange makes the Renaissance Waverly Hotel a perfect choice. Located in the center of the Galleria Office complex makes it a 15 minute drive to Midtown, Downtown, Perimeter Center, and Marietta Square.

Double your fun at Stone Mountain this Holiday Season with a Winter Wonderland packed full of Snow and thousands of twinkling Lights!
Atlanta's Stone Mountain Park transforms into a winter wonderland with "Snow Mountain", Atlanta's only snow park and "Stone Mountain Christmas".
For many people, 'tis the season to shop til you drop. For me, not so much. I really don't find much enjoyment in fighting traffic, circling the mall parking lots, fast food courts, and I certainly don't enjoy shopping. In an attempt to keep up with the holiday spirit and keep myself from going "bah-humbug" I came up with a plan; a weekend getaway at the Embassy Suites Atlanta Buckhead; located within three blocks of Atlanta's best shopping; Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza and surrounded by the best of Atlanta's restaurants and bars.
Known as the crown jewel among luxury hotels in Buckhead, the St. Regis Atlanta stands out for many reasons including the finely crafted attention to detail that is evident from the minute you step inside. This hotel has long been a favorite of celebrities such as Robert Downey Jr., Julia Roberts and Tom Cruise and it's easy to see why.
On my last trip to Atlanta I took one of those Architectural Walking Tours and learned so much about this exquisite skyline. One building that stood out was the Westin Peachtree Plaza; so it was while on that tour I decided that would be where I will stay on my next visit to Hotlanta.
Just off Piedmont Ave in Midtown, across from Piedmont Park, nestles one of Atlanta's more charming attractions- the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the world famous CNN Center is the global headquarters of CNN and Turner Broadcasting. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Atlanta, it is also home to Philips Arena, Turner Studios, the Turner Store, the official Brave's Store and CNN Studio Tours.
In a setting straight out of Spielberg, the Fernbank Museum is staging a display of the "Giants of the Mesozoic," with skeletal replicas of monsterous dinosaurs caught in the eternal struggle for existence.
First to arrive at the Fernbank was Giganotosaurus, a 47-foot meat-eating dinosaur that will soon (by spring 2001) be confronting an Argentinosaurus, a 100 foot plant-eater. Giganotosaurus, installed on June 25, 2000, was joined in the Great Hall by two Anhanguera, flying pterosaurs that landed at Fernbank in November.
