Atlanta, GA -
Attending a meeting or convention in downtown Atlanta doesn't necessarily mean you have to keep step with the hustle and bustle of a large convention hotel 24/7. We prefer the alternative when its time for personal R&R. Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta's business district is the Ellis Hotel--which exudes a perfect blend of southern sophistication, charm, and hospitality.

We Like to Stay Here: Ellis Hotel

Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta's business district is the Ellis Hotel--which exudes a perfect blend of southern sophistication, charm, and hospitality.

After a day of meetings or exploring the city we like to return to our luxurious and intimately appointed guest room, designed with every feasible comfort. Historic elegance merge seamlessly with modern amenities -- large LCD flat screen, high-definition cable television, iPod docking station, free high-speed wireless internet, and plush king size pillow top beds with your choice of pillows. The bathroom is stocked with complimentary toiletries—but even more pleasurable is the rain-shower head in the bath. These accommodations feel like an exclusive urban brownstone rather than a boutique hotel.

A 1913 Atlanta Landmark, formerly the site of the historic Winecoff Hotel, the 15-story, 127 room Ellis Hotel in downtown Atlanta recently announced its inclusion on the National Registry of Historic Places. It has also been recognized with Atlanta's Downtown Design Excellence Award, and Atlanta's Urban Design Commission Award for historic preservation. All of this is in walking distance to most downtown conventions hotels and local businesses. Free time permitting, you are a short walk away from World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium, CNN, Centennial Park, several museums and surrounded by some of Atlanta's best restaurants and clubs. Want to explore elsewhere in the City? There is a cab station on the corner and MARTA (Atlanta's subway) 200 feet from the hotel's front door.

We always make sure to make it back to the hotel between 5:30 and 6:30PM for a complimentary wine tasting on the Terrace Level-- the best people watching seat on Peachtree. The Terrace Restaurant celebrates heirloom recipes through supporting local and regional farmers and purveyors. So make sure you join the locals who have proven The Terrace to be a favorite for southern cuisine coupled with robust flavors of a modern culinary experience.

The Ellis hotel does what any hotel should do -- provide great customer service, attentiveness and too many amenities to count. They make it simple to stay there! End of Article
