We Like to Stay Here: Renaissance Waverly Hotel
Atlanta, GA -
A recent business trip to Atlanta had me going to meetings in different areas of the city and surroundings each day, so I chose a hotel that had easy access to all points. It's proximity to I-75/I-285 interchange makes the Renaissance Waverly Hotel a perfect choice. Located in the center of the Galleria Office complex makes it a 15 minute drive to Midtown, Downtown, Perimeter Center, and Marietta Square.

What a surprise to walk into the spectacular 14 story atrium lobby! I just love checking in to hotels in the south.
What a surprise to walk into the spectacular 14 story atrium lobby! I just love checking in to hotels in the south. The warm southern welcome with that rich southern accent makes you feel right at home, and a quick and seamless check-in was no exception.
The guest rooms have all the standard amenities but what really sets them apart is their spaciousness and views. Whether it be a treetop-lined view of Galleria Park or a skyline view of the city I found myself gazing out the window rather than staying focused on my work while sitting at the desk.
After a long day of travel and meetings I headed back to the hotel and went directly to the Atrium Bar which seems to be a magnet for other hotel guests and a favorite place for the locals. That southern hospitality and charm continued to flow with the bartenders, servers, and the local patrons. In less than an hour I was versed on all the local restaurants, sights, and shopping nearby.
It was unanimous from previous hotel guests as well as the local patrons that Medici, the restaurant in the hotel is a "Do not miss!"
Cross one street and you're at Cumberland Mall for shopping AND "Restaurant Row." Cross the other street and you're at Aker's Mill Square for more shopping and restaurants. Just a few miles away is Vinings Jubilee, a collection of shops, boutiques and restaurants developed to resemble a town square. Offering shopping with a touch of Southern charm, this open-air shopping center serves as the Vinings' unofficial "city center." (The easy access and free parking at the hotel makes it a breeze to go anywhere).
After 4 nights in the Renaissance Waverly, I made it to several of the suggested spots and they were all spot-on!
I conquer with the "Do not miss" Medici. Mediterranean/Tuscan with a contemporary twist and market-fresh ingredients. I will be back!
