DCS Grill Winner Announced!
If you're "Don," you're just lucky... Meet the winner of our DCS Grill Giveaway, Don Bancroft of Brookfield, Illinois!

Just four days after he learned of his good luck, a brand-spanking new, fabulous 36" Professional DCS Grill, valued at sixty-three hundred dollars, was delivered to his home in Brookfield, Illinois.
Don saw the sweepstakes notification in the RSN Buzz newsletter and registered to win at DestinationChefs.com. Just four days after he learned of his good luck, a brand-spanking new, fabulous 36" Professional DCS Grill, valued at $6,300, was delivered to his home in Brookfield, Illinois by the DCS by Fisher and Paykel team.
When we apologized for a slight mixup in the delivery date, Don laughed and told us the story below... we thought everyone would get a kick out of it! Don is a pretty amazing guy!
"It's not a big deal when there's a DCS grill coming, considering it will only be four days from notification to delivery. I might ask what's YOUR hurry?" :)
There was a time back in 1989 when I won a pickup truck from Thrifty Drug stores out in Arizona. They had great hand scooped ice cream and since it was AZ, you always ate their ice cream inside. Thrifty gave away vehicles every month with a drop in the box entry blank and since I was inside, I always filled one out. One day I got a notice of an attempt to deliver a certified letter when I wasn't home. So I picked up the letter at the post office, which said "Please call me concerning the drawing you entered at Thrifty Drug Stores. I called and the first thing the Lady asked was, "Do you work for Thrifty Drugs?" I said "No." She said, "Congratulations, you've won a Chevy S10 pickup!" She told me the sticker price and that it was red. In addition, she said it would be delivered through my local fleet truck dealer. I went to the local Chevy fleet truck dealer but he didn't know anything about it. He said I would need the truck's serial number in order to track it, which I didn't have. That was in May.
I waited and waited, and started to think it was some kind of elaborate prank by one of my friends. Four months later, I received a letter saying the truck would be delivered to my house the following Sunday. Sunday came and went, but no truck. I got up early Monday morning and waited by the phone. When it rang, a man said, "Did you win a truck?" "Yes," I said. The man told me that he had blown a gasket, and I would have to come pick it up in Phoenix, all the way on the other side of the valley! My only vehicle at the time was a 1969 Honda Trail 90 motorcycle (top speed 35MPH). Nevertheless I got on it and "raced" to the truck repair yard. When I got there, my truck was off the semi because he had used it to get dinner the night before. So, I signed a receipt, gave him $20 bucks for lunch, loaded the Trail 90 in the truck, and was gone in an instant.
On the way home, I realized I didn't have a title in order to get insurance and registration. When I got home, I called the lady at Kimberly-Clark in Wisconsin who sponsored the giveaway and she immediately told me the title had been sent by certified mail. I went out to the mailbox and found an attempt to deliver notice. I got on the Trail 90, rode around 'til I found the mailman. I had the truck insured, plates on it and made it to work on time that night, nearly 5 months after I had won this red truck!
So, waiting four days for the special DCS grill is NUTHIN'. And that's why I never pass up a chance to enter a drawing. As a matter of fact, I'm writing this on a MacBook Pro I won last March from an IT site back in March with one entry. I may have to start entering more of these things.
I'll keep watching Destination Chefs, and I signed up for the newsletter, as well. I'm more of a brats and burgers guy, but that might change now that I'm into Destination Chefs and have a fancy DCS grill (by Fisher & Paykel)! I'll at least throw a shrimp or two on the "barbi", and hey...thanks everyone for all the gifts! I guess I should start playing the LOTTO next?"
Yes, Don...we think you should! And, happy grilling!
