Battle in the Bay offers an authentic tropical setting for dragon boat racing by launching directly from the beach. No splinters from wooden piers, no bouncing on floating docks. Just soft sand between your toes in 80+ degree water. Coupled with the splendor, warmth and allure of the Florida Keys, Battle In The Bay is truly Beachin’ in Marathon!
Race organizers are proud to facilitate a community spirit by including local non-profit organizations in the fundraising possibilities through Battle In The Bay.
Beverage sale proceeds benefit Reef Relief, a global nonprofit membership organization dedicated to preserving and protecting living coral reef ecosystems.
Every dragon boat team is encouraged to gather pledges for a charity of their choice with a grand prize awarded for the highest amount of money raised by an individual.
To date: 17 different charities have been recipients of team pledges totaling $40,000.
