Key West, FL -
Tennesee Williams and Ernest Hemingway aren't the only BIG names in literature who had a home in Key West... Robert Frost also had a winter cottage on the island and admirers of the Pulitzer Prize winning poet will gather in Key West to celebrate the man and discuss his poetry during the 14th Annual Robert Frost Poetry Festival.

Robert Frost Poetry Festival
April 15-19, 2009
Where: Heritage House Museum & Robert Frost Cottage

Frost, who served as the U.S. poet laureate in 1958-59, first visited Key West in 1934 and wrote one of his best-known poems, "The Gift Outright," on the island. He subsequently paid winter visits to Key West from 1945 to 1960, staying in a small cottage behind the home of local hostess and preservationist Jessie Porter.

Today Porter's home and the cottage, which has been named a National Literary Landmark, make up the Heritage House Museum. Visitors can view hundreds of mementos from Key West's seafaring past and learn about the house's role as a gathering place for writers including Thornton Wilder, Tennessee Williams, John Dos Passos and Ernest Hemingway in addition to Frost.
