Summer is here and that means it's time to start planning that great summer vacation!! If you're thinking of spending some time on the East Coast then look no further than the Grand Strand of South Carolina.
Last year was a great year with the addition of two huge attractions, The Skywheel Myrtle Beach and WonderWorks. I’m so excited to let everyone know Myrtle Beach continues to grow. As of right now, there are at least two more great attractions coming to the beach.
Spring is in the air and it's time to get out and enjoy the perfect weather and shake off the winter time blues. One of the best outdoor activities the Grand Strand has to offer is Alligator Adventure where you’ll come face to face with some of nature’s most menacing creatures!
Everyone knows there are state birds, and state flowers, but did you know some states even have an official dance? It's true, and in South Carolina, it's called "the Shag." "The Shag," is a swing style dance combining nimble footwork with upbeat rhythm and blues. Although the Shag became most popular in the 30's and 40's, it wasn't until 1984 that South Carolina declared it the Official State Dance.
It's no secret that Myrtle Beach is a premier getaway for the summer months, but it IS somewhat of a secret within the tight-knit network of travel connoisseurs that it might actually be even better during the winter!
Obviously, one of the best times to come to Myrtle Beach is in the Summer, but I also believe you are missing out if you don't try it in the Winter.
In the winter, the temperature is mild. The high on average is close to 60, which is still plenty warm enough to go to the beach.
The Grand Strand really gets into the spirit of the holiday season with street parades featuring festive floats, boat regattas, tree lighting ceremonies, visits from Santa and of course some of the best live entertainment you will find anywhere in the south, including the Alabama Theatre's Grandest Christmas Show, The Carolina Opry Christmas special and the Palace Theatre's Christmas on Ic
If you're looking for something to do on the Carolina Coast this October, then you are in for a real treat! Between The Endless Summer Festival and Halloween, there is certainly no shortage of fun on the Grand Strand!
Endless Summer Festival
Now that it's fall, the weather on the Grand Strand couldn't be more enjoyable! So if you're looking for something to do to make the most of these gorgeous days and see something truly unique then head on over to the 22nd Annual Wooden Boat show hosted by the Harbor Historical Association of Georgetown on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 11am to 6pm.
There are a lot of great new things happening on the Grand Strand, but it's the old memories that draw me back. Don't get me wrong, we were just there in June; we stayed at Kingston Plantation in one of the most beautiful, multi-million dollar oceanfront condos on the coast, and it was AWESOME...
