Now that it's fall, the weather on the Grand Strand couldn't be more enjoyable! So if you're looking for something to do to make the most of these gorgeous days and see something truly unique then head on over to the 22nd Annual Wooden Boat show hosted by the Harbor Historical Association of Georgetown on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 11am to 6pm.

This year's show is sure to be a blast for the whole family featuring one of the nation's premier wooden boat exhibits, a wooden boatbuilding competition, children's model boatbuilding, maritime arts and crafts, knot tying demonstrations, food and live entertainment!
The festivities will be held on the waterfront along Front Street in Historic Downtown Georgetown.
Admission is free to the public and all money raised from sales and donations will go toward the building and development of the South Carolina Maritime Museum.
Over 100 classic wooden boats will be displayed in the water along the boardwalk with vessels ranging in size from kayaks to yachts. Visitors will be able to meet and talk with wooden boat craftsmen, manufacturers and owners. Maritime arts, crafts and models will also be on display for those looking to buy a souvenir or even try their hand at a few maritime activities.
There will also be two stages featuring live music from such performers as Blue Plantation, an acoustic string band and singer-songwriter Rene Russell on tweleve string guitar with fellow musician, Gary Hewitt.
At 7pm an awards ceremony and banquet will be held for boat exhibitors, sponsors and guests. Prizes will be presented for eleven different categories of boatbuilding as well as the "People's Choice Grand Award."
Although there is never a shortage of things to do in the Grand Strand, this unique event is sure to please the whole family!
