Coolinary New Orleans!

  Tell a Friend

New Orleans, LA -
It's so true, in New Orleans we LIVE to EAT; in fact, we LOVE to eat, not eat to live. I recently attended my 20 year class reunion in Omaha, Nebraska where I tried to explain my "N'awlin's" lifestyle. Well it's not exactly my lifestyle, it's the way of life in New Orleans (and most of Louisiana) and the way people live... we just love to eat and drink. It is more than just our famous Friday lunches that start at noon and often end sometime Saturday morning... or the fact that our festivals contain foods like Goat Cheese and Crawfish Crepes or Soft Shell Crab Po'Boy or Pheasant, Quail and Andouille Gumbo or my favorite little snack... duck Po'Boy . On any given work day you can walk into an office and hear discussions on what everyone had for dinner last night and what they're having for lunch should eat for lunch or what they're planning for dinner tonight. Food is important to us... not just for the nutrition to get us through tomorrow's big festival, but to celebrate LIFE... and LIVING. And it doesn't hurt that we have such an abundance of fresh local produce and seafood everywhere we go!

Coolinary New Orleans!

I would personally like to invite you to New Orleans to experience this joy... this simple yet wonderful joy of eating and drinking!

I would personally like to invite you to New Orleans to experience this joy... this simple yet wonderful joy of eating and drinking! And there's no time like the present with the 7th annual "Coolinary" summer promotion in full swing. "Coolinary" New Orleans celebrates the joy of dining in America's most "Delicious City". It is ideal for foodies... perfect for people who are just learning how to peel bar-b-que shrimp and best of all, who doesn't love a good deal... as in "discount dining?" Participating restaurants are offering 2-3 lunch courses at $20 or less and 3 course dinners at $35 or less. Nearly 50 of New Orleans' best restaurants are participating... NOT the franchise restaurants you find anywhere but our legendary dining rooms! Many of my favorites are involved this year: the incredible Café Adelaide, Palace Café, 7 on Fulton, Antoine's, Café Degas, Galatoire's, Grand Isle Restaurant, GW Fins, LUKE, and Mulates Cajun restaurant (just to name a few-ha)! From fine dining to family dining, this event covers everything! Heck you can even do a $20 lunch at Commander's Palace! Yes it's true! Only $20 a person for the most wonderful meal you will ever have... period!

This year's Coolinary summer promotion ends August 31, so make your plans right away! For a complete list of participating restaurants, check out nomcvb.com and when you make your reservations, don't forget to tell them Rachel at NOTV sent you! And hey... if you need someone to go to lunch with you, drop me a line! I am always up for lunch at Commanders Palace. Did I tell you what I had for lunch today?
