Where: Berger Parking Lot Z

The New Orleans Oyster Festival will feature great Louisiana music, a cultural oyster tent, the finest local cuisine, and competitions for oyster shucking and the largest oyster. The "Acme Oyster House, World Oyster Eating Competition" will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the revered New Orleans institution. Weekend performances on the Event's Stage include Irma Thomas, Rockin' Dopsie, Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters, Cowboy Mouth and the James Andrews Band.

"This Festival has been long over due. We know what to do in troubled times – work hard and play harder! Eat, drink, and celebrate our heritage," said Sal Sunseri, Vice President of P & J Oyster Company and New Orleans Oyster Festival board member.

A prelude to the New Orleans Oyster Festival will be the Bourbon House Wine and Louisiana Oyster Pairings Contest on June 3. Celebrity judges will select the best wine pairing for the Gulf Coast Oyster. The New Orleans Oyster Festival's education component will highlight the benefits of the Louisiana Gulf Oyster, as well as honor and celebrate the restaurateurs and oyster farmers who have solidified New Orleans' position as the "Oyster Capital of America."

A percentage of raised funds will go to Save Our Coast on behalf of "Our Community, Our Culture, and Our Coast", in support of coastal restoration and the men and women who serve the oyster industry daily. "Meet us on Decatur between Hard Rock and Jax Brewery.

Be a part of a historic moment celebrating the greatest seafood alive, the Louisiana Oyster. See you at the parking lot June 5th and 6th!" said Sunseri.
