I-10 runs from Florida all the way to California and passes directly through the city. To get to the Central Business District, exit at Poydras Street near the Louisiana Superdome. If your looking for the French Quarter, keep your eyes open for the Vieux Carre' exit.

Getting around in New Orleans is always interesting. There are no mountains in The Crescent City, so wherever you are, your either at sea level or below. The city is built on a bend in the river, hence it's nickname, The Crescent City.

There are no landmarks to help with general direction other than water. When describing to someone your whereabouts, it usually consists of a location adjacent to a body of water. They are Lakeside, Riverside, Eastbank and Westbank.

If you are lakeside, you are usually near lake Pontchartrain; if you are riverside, you are usually near the Mississippi; if you are near the eastbank, you are generally on the West side of the Mississippi River; if you are near the westbank, you are generally on the East side of the Mississippi River.
