Graffiti Goes Digital in Alys Beach

Where is Alys Beach, you say? Well, it's on Scenic 30-A and for anyone who's never ventured off Highway 98, it's high time you take a look at everything that's happened and is happening along this oasis of coastal nirvana that's known simply as "30-A." There are any number of distinct beach communities along this now famous route, each with its own personality and unique take on just how "beach life" should be, but there's no mistaking the crown jewel of 30-A, an oasis of luxury called Alys Beach!

Beach People are the Best Kind of People

People who know how to enjoy life, are my favorite kind of people. I guess that's why I get a kick out of our tourists on Panama City Beach. I suppose there are some drawbacks to living in a tourist town – the roadways can get crowded in high season, and there are often long lines at my favorite restaurants, but the good certainly outweighs the minor inconveniences.

Healthy Vacation in Panama City Beach

While on vacation, staying healthy and fit is vital to making the rest and relaxation away from home even more beneficial. Coastal Northwest Florida certainly offers many avenues to keep the mind sound and body fit while visiting the world’s most beautiful beaches.

World Record for the Largest Bikini Parade

On March 6th Panama City Beach kicked off the 2012 Spring Break season by hosting a bikini parade that broke the Guinness World Record for the Largest Bikini Parade in the world, beating the current record held by Australia.

450 Spring Breakers from around the country as well as many local ladies took part in the parade that consisted of a one mile stretch along the Gulf of Mexico, breaking the Gold Coast of Australia’s record where 357 women participated last October.

The Best Oysters Money Can Buy

In my Top 5 shows, I'm never only showing you the food. I'm always also talking about Place. The best dining experiences are travel experiences. These are the meals you couldn't have experienced anywhere else, whether because of the view, the surroundings, the people involved, or the ingredients. Sometimes, it's even because of all of the above––-and that's how it was filming my recent Top 5 Best Oyster Bars from Panama City to Carrabelle.

The Forgotten Coast

Even living as close as I do, I don’t get to Apalachicola nearly often enough. It’s in the area known as the Forgotten Coast, but that’s no excuse! Especially since, every time I do go, I always wish I had more time to spend. It really is like traveling o a world that doesn’t feel like a tourist destination, even though it offers so much to experience.

Halloween in Panama City Beach

Halloween was originally a celebration for the end of the harvest season but the date, October 31, held a special meaning for the Celts long ago, and it wasn't a particularly happy occasion. On this otherwise ordinary day, the impenetrable border between the "real" world and the otherworld opened for the day and the dead were free to cross and cause mayhem for the living... at least for a single day that we now call Halloween. No wonder people have come to expect the macabre and SO MANY bone chilling activities on this one-of-a-kind holiday, but as civilization has become more civil...

Beach TV Goes HD

There was no doubt in my mind that Beach TV would be the first local cable channel to launch in High-Definition this past month. I remember filming with Myron Hines, Senior Executive Vice President, and his 1st HD camera like it was yesterday. Little did I know, this would propel our station to being one of the first to show viewers all the beautiful programming of the Emerald Coast we'd accumulated over the past 5 years in HD.
