Ten Best Places to Snap a Photo in Panama City Beach
Panama City Beach, FL -
10. The Bull at Angelo’s Steak Pit
Kid’s love standing under this monstrous Longhorn, named Gus. This will also help distract them from the long wait you experience when dining (or trying to) at Angelo’s during peak summer months.

9. Beside the Sandcastle You Built
Some kid’s can play at the beach all day, others want to head back to the pool minutes after you’ve finished setting up the 5 chairs, umbrella and the cooler you just hauled what had to have been a half a mile from your hotel room. Keep them occupied by helping them build a giant sandcastle. Before they kick it over be sure to take a pic to put up on the fridge back home.
8. St. Andrew’s State Park
Take your pick for a picturesque backdrop. The state park offers 1,260 acres for you to roam in search of a great background. Snap a picture next to sand dunes covered with sea oats, on one of the hiking trails, on the fishing jetties, by a fresh or salt-water marsh or if you’re feeling really adventurous next to the tent you slept in the night before.
7. The Carousel at Pier Park
Young and old will enjoy this nostalgic background and the ride!
6. Russell-Fields Pier
The new city pier is now the longest on the Gulf of Mexico, and is sure to be a new favorite landmark on Panama City Beach. After a day at the beach or shopping across the Street at Pier Park be sure to walk the length of this beautiful pier. (Entry is $2 per person).
5. From the Water
For a different perspective take a photo from the water looking back at the Emerald Coast, lined with palm trees and high-rise hotels. Rent a pontoon boat or let someone else chauffer you around the waters on the Sea Screamer or the Pirate Cruise.
4. From Above
Take a Sea Plane or Helicopter Tour for a bird’s eye view of Panama City Beach and a shot not many are likely to have.
3. Out of Your Comfort Zone
Have someone snap your photo while you are trying something new or adventurous like on top of a surfboard, parasailing or bujee jumping. Then when no one back home believes you, you’ll have proof!
2. Sunset on the Beach
True these shots are a dime a dozen, but it you go at just the right time (after 7pm in the summer) you can just about count on a beautiful sky or sunset. Instead of asking strangers to “take a photo” ask someone else from your group to come along and take at least 20 photos of you and your loved ones and you’ll surely catch the perfect shot. Offer to buy their dinner and they’ll definitely say “yes” and it’ll still be cheaper than hiring a photographer. Once you’re back in your hometown have the best one enlarged and framed.
1. In a Bucket
Ok, let me explain. Panama City is a place you’ll most likely come back to year after year so why not have a series of photos that showcase the changes you or your kids go through over the years. My aunt has a big red sand bucket that she put each of her grandchildren in for a photo from their very first trip as babies and every year after that. It doesn’t have to be a bucket, just something that is constant like the Pier, the cannon at Schooners, or the bull at Angelo’s. You’ll be glad you did!
