When you think of the Christmas season, it's usually thoughts of snow and bone-chilling cold as winter settles in. Well, how about a trip to Panama City instead, where the Christmas images are much the same though set against palm trees, warmth and... a Parade of Boats!
The air traffic for Bay County is going to change come May 2010. We're going to look up to the skies and see 737 aircrafts painted desert gold, warm red, orange and canyon blue with bold black text on the side that says, "Southwest Airlines." Many locals and travelers wanting more flight options to Northwest Florida have been crossing their fingers and awaiting the Southwest bird to service the area since the announcement of the new airport.

Responsible for it all is Culinary Director Konrad Jochum, who also happens to be the original designer of the Boatyard menu. Once again he has taken matters into his own hands, literally, as he now personally oversees the kitchen. Jochum was born in Berlin, Germany where he grew up in his father's butcher shop and learned to appreciate the importance of using quality ingredients.
The Snapper Bowl Classic attracts some of the best teams from all over the United States; from California, Philadelphia, Texas, to Florida. Where only the best teams come to play. The Snapper Bowl Classic is a true double elimination tournament over a three day period. It lasts until only one team remains in each division.
The Downtown Improvement Board (DIB) will host its annual "Home for the Holidays" event in historic Downtown Panama City throughout the coming holiday season. Beginning Friday, November 27th and continuing each Friday evening through December 18th, Downtown store hours will be extended to 8:00 pm, and Downtown will transform into a holiday wonderland filled with excitement. Families can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides with commentary from members of the Historical Society of Bay County, and listen to seasonal carols from community choirs and choral groups strolling about Harrison Avenue.
