Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival
Pensacola, FL -
The 27th Annual Frank Brown International Songwriters' Festival will be held November 10-20, 2011. The festival is an opportunity for songwriters and musicians from all over the world to have their songs heard and for the public to enjoy the songs they know performed by the writers who created them. During this 11 day festival, concerts featuring Grammy Award winning songwriters and the up and coming stars of tomorrow will be held on the beautiful Gulf Coast including Pensacola and Perdido Key, Florida and Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The music you will be as varied as the personalities of each performer and songwriter... the only constant in all their biographies is music!
Take Adam Holt for instance, he's carved a niche out of his southern hospitality and the many influences on his writing and music…just a little bit of Alabama red clay, some Tennessee country on top of some British blues invasion and psychedelic rock, not to mention the New Orleans gumbo funk that shows up in almost everything he does! These influences are like jet-fuel for his unique style and he's always charting his own musical course. Check him out at adamholtmusic.com and see for yourself! Alan Rhody will also be on hand and he's already spun over 100 recordings by a long list of major country, folk and bluegrasss artists. He's the man behind the arrangements for hit makers like the Oak Ridge Boys, George Jones and Tanya Tucker…just to name a few! It's clear to see that he's country through and through! Not so with Andrew Duhon who's writing is so personal that he's the best one to perform it and his concerts always reflect his personal experiences in a very real way that's full of raw emotion and conviction. Look for him to find his way high up on the charts and remember the name, Andrew Duhon! For more information on Andrew, check out his website, at andrewduhon.com.
That's the run down on a few of the guys who will be performing at the festival…there are just too many to mention each and every one but a full list is available on the Frank Brown website, but it wouldn't be fair not to mention a few of the gals that will be showing up in big numbers, too! Barbara Cloyd has been singing since the age of three when she got hooked singing "Frosty the Snowman" with her Sunday school choir. She's been in Nashville since 1983 and is happy to call it home, especially since her struggles really paid off in 1993 with her hit single, "I Guess You Had to Be There" recorded by the one and only Lorrie Morgan. Barbara is a polished performer herself, and she loves the Gulf Coast! Now Crystal Shawanda is a name worth remembering, too, born in Ontario, Canada and a tried and true Canadian country artist. She's livin' her dream and will be down Pensacola way with her debut single on RCA, "You Can Let Go" which ran up the Canadian Country Charts reaching the top 10 in 5 weeks! It was released in this country in and Crystal is a big presence wherever she goes and folks here are excited about seeing her live! You can learn all about this gal at her website and have fun doing it!
So, as you can see the entertainment is going to be rich and extremely exciting as these artists work and play hard to show you just who they are through their songwriting and performing. It's a great way to get to know someone and last year the festival hosted 190 songwriters in 26 outstanding venues and concert goers were treated to 378 separate performances.
The Frank Brown Songwriters' Festival has been referred to as the largest gathering of SONGWRITERS' at one time anywhere in the world. The Southeast Tourism Society has named Frank Brown International Songwriters' Festival one of the top 20 events in the Southeast. And why on earth would you want to miss an event like this…and remember, fall on the Gulf Coast is one of the most comfortable seasons of the year! Just bring a sweater or a sweatshirt for the nighttime, and the days will be perfectly comfortable even though the music will most definitely be HOT!
New songwriters are being added every week so keep checking back to see who's going to be on hand and get a little acquainted with them before the festival on the "Who's Playing" link, at fbisf.com.
